Comment:
Class was easy if you paid attention - all multiple choice aside from the exam, and the exam was open book. OK personality wise; he wasn't big on students that he noticed weren't always in class, and was touchy now and then. He's a very smart man and knows his stuff. Wouldn't praise his class, but wouldn't discourage anyone from taking it either.

He strongly encourages discussion and for his students to philosophize rather than study philosophy. The first semester covered Socrates and was very interesting. The second semester was logic and Descartes and was dry lectures with infrequent discussions and debate. You can get 15% BONUS by participating often and good attendance but he marks hard

Easy going guy, has a good sense of humor. As long as you go to class and do the assigned readings anybody can do well in this course. He makes it interesting and encourages the students to give their opinion.

Dr. Mencsh is a very freindly and polite man. Probly the most civil of the professors I have had. His course is challenging but if interested in philosophy or considering majoring in it he is an excellent choice. Dont take him if you dont want to learn.

Mensch is a really good man. He's intelligent and sincere, and expects the same of his students. Encourages discussions, hears everyone out. Testing is decent, no papers, but a challenging amount of reading to keep you on your toes. A good one if you enjoy the contemplative!

Mensch is one of my favourite profs, mainly because he's such a sweet and friendly man. His course isn't bad except for the section on logic, thats horrifying. He has hilarious stories. Bad hearing and talks really softly. Ask for help if you need it, it will do you a lot of good. Take him if your interested in Philosophy, if not - Don't take him.

This class was so boring. I nearly fell asleep numerous times. If you have the mind for philosophy, take this course. If you do not, you have no clue what you are egtting yoruself into. Nice guy. No papers, or assignments. Pay attention or you are screwed.

Nice guy.Very in depth and expects the same of you! Quite possibly expects too much of intro students, since no one in my class made a mark over 73. Exams are hard.No essays/papers but still heavy courseload, alot to cover and know. nice guy but hard marker! overall not bad

philosophy of ethics it was my favorite class to make me think about things. He seemed like a jerk at first but once you get in to a few classes you realized he was just giving you the other side of arguements. That he was getting everyone going so they would discuss and argue ethical issues.A ok guy

Dreaded this class. Once kicked me out of class for not knowing the answer to his question, not helpful, liked to embarrass people. Tests were pretty easy though.
