Is not a good professor. If it wasn't for him leaving mid way I would not have passed and I am a student in the deans list. Would not recommend.

Dr. Mone was the worst. He left halfway through the semester and thank goodness he did or I would have failed. We received a new professor to take his place and she saved my grade. Mone goes way too fast and is a super hard grader. I am not one to do poorly in a class and I was failing until he left. I would not recommend taking his class.

Mone is a really nice guy but he doesnt answer emails very well. He takes forever to answer emails and sometimes doesnt even answer. His exams have a lot of trick questions. He sometimes takes leaves and he was gone for half the semester.

If you have to take Bio I'd recommend Mone. It's a hard class regardless of the professor, but Mone is very helpful and funny. His lectures can be hard to follow if you aren't interested in the subject, so I would highly recommend skimming the readings before coming to class. Also his labs are so fun! Love him!

A lot of people think the lecture tests are hard, I recommend studying and finding a tutor as quickly as possible. If you need help, he is usually available to aid you. Reading the book will make a difference in comprehending the material and improving performance on tests. Read the lab manual for the quizzes in lab, can be tricky sometimes.

This class can be hard and you need to stay on top of your work. The test can be very hard so make sure you read the book. The lab write ups are long so make sure you pay attention on how to due them. One nice thing is he gives 50 pts for attendance so this can help your grade a lot just my going to class.

Loved this professor! He is so passionate and hilarious, which made class very interesting and the information was easier to keep in my head. Tests could be a little hard, but after studying and reading the book I have a high A in the class which was only a 5 week summer course. Would recommend him to anyone! He makes bio fun!

This man is far too passionate. His quiz/tests are designed for someone who is a BIO major. He goes off topic randomly and goes too fast to even keep up. I strongly do not recommend you take this professor unless you are a bio major.

Would not recommend this class to anyone!! Recently just had this class and had to drop it. He is very passionate about bio but can go off topic and will have you confused. The tests are nothing like what you go over in class. Unless you want to teach yourself, would not recommend

He is a really nice guy, but very hard. He gets off topic so much that you don't even know whats going on most of the time. Book doesn't help either. Like I said nice guy but I wouldn't take another class from him ever! Nor would I recommend him to anyone who doesn't want to teach them self the whole course by researching everything.

If you are forced to take Bio (which is the "easiest" of most science courses) TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. He is very passionate about the topic and will truly do whatever he can to help you. His tests and bio quizzes are hard though so be sure to take plenty of notes and actually study them. Try your best to keep up with hi and you'll be fine!

By far my favorite professor at MU. He is passionate about bio and will ramble all day if you let him. Very very smart guy who knows EVERYTHING you ask him related to biology. The class is a bit challenging but as long as you take good notes and understand the processes of everything, you will pass. I recommend him if you have to take the class.

Oh my gosh, I do NOT recommend him for several reasons, but in a nutshell, he is very difficult and not specific as to what to know for the exams at all! He goes into so much depth of 1 subject in class and then you take the exam and it looks completely foreign...the book is not helpful at all either. Good luck if you have him, study hard ! :)

Where to begin...Mone is a crazy guy. I had him for Bio 100 and about 3 weeks into the semester, he got sick and was randomly gone. The time I had him, he proceeded to roll on the floor multiple times and he never seemed to accomplish much in our lecture. Needless to say, just avoid Mone at all costs. He is an extremely nice guy but VERY hard.

I took Mone for a summer class, so it was a lot of work. But I loved him. He is so excited about what he teaches and loves doing it. He is a bit scattered, but I truly enjoyed class and gained a newfound love for bio! I worked my butt off for a 98%-you have to know your stuff, but he was very helpful & interesting! I recommend-but not for slackers!

Virology was very interesting. The lab work is a bit challenging, but do-able. He is also very helpful, and is willing to allow individuals to take exams past their determined dates. Overall, he is a great pofessor, but is challenging. I highly recommend taking a class with him as the professor.
