Professor Strick is a brilliant professor - certainly worth taking a course with him! I would recommend History of Medicine. Very accessible outside of class, always has interesting and insightful things to say on a wide breadth of topics.

Really fantastic. This class definitely had a workload for an intro level, but it's manageable. SUPER interesting-- will give you new insights into econ, anthropology, society, and religion. Often lectures were unrelated (although highly interesting), so I was nervous for the exam-- but if you do the study guide he gives really well you'll be set!

Absolutely amazing professor, definitely one of the best I have had at my time at F and M. If you get the chance take any of the classes he teaches, even if the credit won't count towards anything. He will definitely change your outlook!

Professor Strick is the man. He's so passionate about what he's teaching and knows so much about so many different things. You learn so much from him and this class. There is one big paper and the final is long, but he gives you a study guide. If you have the opportunity, take a class with this guy.

One of the most knowledgable and thought provoking people I've ever met. Loves to hear students opinions (even invited us over to his house for a couple of beers one thursday) and is a big advocate of practical learning (we went on a field trip to tour the inside of a nuclear power plant). Heavy workload of about 300 pages a week.

Easily one of the most knowledgable professors on campus. His class is not only entertaining, but will challenge your views on all different aspects of the environment. The course requires a lot of reading and we wrote about 40 pages worth of essays but he grades them pretty easily for the most part (Many B's-A's for the class)

This man is genius and that is an understatement. He is passionate about his work which makes you want to learn from him. The course is fairly challenging if you don't show up to his lectures, but if you put the time in you should have no trouble. Wish this man taught physics!

EXTREMELY knowledgeable but loves to hear himself talk. Don't bother going to his office unless you want to hear an extra lecture. Tons of reading but it's interesting and you don't have to do all of it. Make sure you know what HE thinks about stuff (by paying attn in class) for the exams. Also expects you to include everything on tests and papers

Dr. Strick is one of the smartest people I have ever met in my life. He has such a passion for teaching, and you will do well in his class if you work hard. There is a lot of reading, but he is a fantastic lecturer, so it complements the reading. I have had him for Science Revolutions and History of Medicine, and in both courses he was awesome!

Knows his topic/material and exellent lecturer, but disappointed in ability to organize a class. 3hrs of lecture/week, HUGE amounts of reading, nothing else until 1st overwhelming exam. If you can't memorize every word of all lectures/readings, you are going to get screwed even if you do learn. Basicaly tests on memorization/regurgitation, not fun.

This class seems like it will be the hardest thing in the world the first day of class but it is really not that bad. He grades papers alot easier than you would expect and the course is very interesting. Alot of the reading is boring but I basically stopped reading after the first week and I'm fine. Very good class over all.

My favorite teacher at this school! Pay attention in class and take good notes, this is all you really need to do well in his classes. Reading helps, but take his advice and skim... don't read word for word or you'll end up killing yourself with the amount of reading he gives.
