It's refreshing to have an instructor who enjoys what he's doing. In any class, you need to make sure that you know the material. Every course builds upon the previous. For what we don't understand in this class, there are plenty of opportunities for help outside of class. We have to put the extra effort in and get it done. It's just that simple.

Dr. Wirth is very helpful, yes he is tough some times but he will give you all his effort to help you...he has a really sense of humor and makes the whole class laugh...Every one say he will set you to "Failure" I Disagree, Only YOU will set yourself to failure. this major is a challenge and you have to step your game up! really enjoyed this class.

WARNING!!!!Wirth is very easy and an easy A for you to get, but if you don't understand com sci like that, you gunna be messed up once you get passed his class because the other teachers will expect u to do the programs by hand. Awesome guy, but his teaching style is detrimental to young com sci students.

He said the first day of class, I do this and that bla bla... "in your words, I and the son of a b...". Very scary at the beginning but very entertaining and helpful. I mostly did not prepared for tests because the homeworks online shows exactly what is going to be on the test. If one can do the homework (the concept)then and A is what he/she gets

Intimidating at first, but really isn't after the first few weeks. Gets straight to the point. Tells jokes and gets off topic (especially on fridays). Real down to earth guy and his class wasn't hard if you did the homeworks. Some of the homeworks sucked, but overall definitely help understand the material. Recommended professor.

Very sarcastic. Seems intimidating at first, but is actually quite entertaining. You will hate the homework, but you will also find it really ingrains the lessons. Definitely worth taking, and enjoyable in the end.

My absolute Favorite Professor in School. Mentor Drove me batty sometimes, but it really helped you understand the work. I have already left the school, and gone on with my life, but the things that Wirth has taught me have stayed with me.

Great teacher, he is a little rough around the edges but honestly cares about his students (once they have proven that they care about themselves). He makes his grading very clear and will fail you in a heartbeat, or I should say he gives you what you deserve, nothing more, nothing less... I don't think CS will be the same without him.

Well I was scared to death going into this class because of horror stories I had heard about dr. wirth. However, I was pleasently suprised to see what a helpful teacher he is. Some of his assignments are a little tough, but he does a great job of explaining what he wants. He is by far, the best CSCI teacher I have had yet.

It is easier to hate this guy than to try to like him. He is one of the best teachers i've had so far. Just go to class EVERY day and pay attention and you will get an A. For 2510 I had a perfect 100 cept for the exam. Mentor only records the HIGHEST grade and allows up to Sunday for friday hw.
