Doc is one of the best human beings, let alone professors, at Trinity. He inspires me to not only be a better musician but a good human being. My experience in the Wind Ensemble has been very positive and rewarding.

Comment:

Dr. Worman is like your dad in college. If he's not like your dad, he's who your dad should aspire to be. His music taste is a little weird, but he's a wonderful, wonderful man. He gets a bit frustrated with the band sometimes, but never mad, and when the band gets it right he has an expression of pure joy on his face that really makes my day.

Had Doc for various ensembles and also Jazz History for 5 years. He's basically the nicest, most caring person on campus. Period. VERY dedicated to his students and each one of his courses. Absolutely defined my time at Trinity and learned a ton under his instruction! Most of all though, I had a lot of fun playing under his direction!!

I don't know what that other person experienced, but the Doc I know hardly ever screams or yells at the band, and when he does it's because the rehearsal sucks because people aren't focused. I've had him for several classes now, and he's a great teacher. Plus he really cares about his students.

Doc is basically the best professor EVER. He is passionate about the topics he teaches, and he has a tremendous wealth of knowledge. In band, I always felt his rehearsals were conducted efficiently & in good taste. I have taken 3 classes with him, and if I didn't already have too many credits within the music dept, I'd take another class with him!

Class for choir kids learning overview of band instruments: Worman is a WONDERFUL man, but as a teacher he kind of sucks. Lectures are BOOORING and very scatter-brained. Tests are okay, but I often felt unprepared due to the sub-par lectures. Helpful, though... again, Wonderful person. Do not be afraid.
