Wow, if he is still teaching there after 25 years, he must be good. I'm going back for my 25th reunion, and I may just sit in on his class just for the fun of it, and then I'll let you youngsters know if any of your criticism is justified.

Brilliant prof, and easily one of the best at Trinity. Teaches purely out of concern for the subject. He actually wrote a treatise on the subject ("on the destiny of civilized culture") in his spare time--his work having nothing to do with the subject at all! So very good. Tests are detail-oriented, so a few hrs study is required to get an A.

Soft-spoken yet has a wonderful sense of humor if students would stay awake long enough to appreciate it. I found the tests very easy with a few hours of review- everything comes directly from the lectures which are crystal clear and he grades fairly. I usually hate science, but enjoyed the class.

he has the most monotone voice ever, so if you can't handle that, don't take the class. he is a very nice guy, but he is an extremely tough grader and takes off a lot of points on essay questions, etc. i don't really recommend him - nice, but boring.

He speaks with a Romanian accent but he's fairly easy to understand and very friendly. The jokes are the only thing that will possibly keep you awake in the class. The tests come from the outlines but grading is harsh as he expects every detail.

Just listen to what he's saying and you won't fall asleep! He is probably the best biology teacher at trinity, the ONLY one who will give you a fair opportunity for an A, even if you aren't one of the kids who studies 9 hours a day

He turns out the lights in lecture and speaks in a monotone, so it's hard to not fall asleep. If you stay awake, though, he's actually pretty interesting and funny. Grades fair and quick to answer any questions you might have.

True, he talks monotone, but he is one of the most interesting teachers I've ever had. I've never been so enraptured with any lectures before. And the class is so easy, he tells you exactly what will be on the tests and final!!!

A hard class. Dr. Espey was always available for office hours. his lectures are not all too interesting, but the material is presented clearly. I learned more in this class than I had ever learned in any other class.
