I enjoyed this class! It's informative and interesting. You're graded on four tests. It's very important that you make it to each lecture and read all of the assigned reading, because that's what the tests are based on. The only reason I didn't get an A is because I didn't study enough for the final. You'll be fine if you take good notes and study.

Amazing professor. Perhaps it helps that I'm in my 20's and not fresh out of high school, but my opinion still stands. Very simple class. Write down what he puts on the board and listen to what he is saying. This was all lecture. If you can't sit for 75 minutes without looking at your phone, don't take the class. Funny and interesting as hell.

One of the best professors I've ever had. Took it for a gen Ed for nursing and almost considered changing my major. Makes lectures very interesting. He's a no nonsense teacher which I love. Go to class, pay attention, take notes and you'll do fine. I read some of the articles online but never opened the book. Use your brain and you'll do great.

This was my third and final course with Dr. Wright. This was a wonderful class, and I truly learned a lot in it. The lectures are more like open discussions. When you ask Dr. Wright a question, be prepared for a very in depth answer. He knows the material. The grade was based on 3 exams with a large essay component. Not an easy class, but worth it.

This was my second course with Dr. Wright, and he is a fantastic professor. He knows the material like the back of his hand. His courses flow logically, and they barely come off as lectures, they're more like open discussions. The entire grade was based on 4 exams, with a large essay component. It's not an easy class, but you'll learn a lot.

Dr. Write is one of those teachers who comes off as cold and awkward, but he's actually a goof ball. I had him for one class (sociology) my second semester at Sauk, but for the rest of the years I was there he recognized me. When we'd walk by each other in the hallway we'd sometimes exchange a joke or two and say hi. He's an interesting guy.

Dr. Wright is an awesome teacher!! Social Problems is definitely not an easy class, but he spends a lot of time going over the material. Lots of supplemental material gets emailed out...READ IT! The supplements are where the test questions come from! Awesome class! I'm taking anthropology with Dr. Wright next year and I can't wait!

He's a little off his rocker with his odd sense of humor, but what do you expect, he's a soc sci professor. Definitely more of a university level teacher. Brilliant and bold man. Enjoyed his class, very eye opening. The bigger textbook is extremely important in his class. Probably a good 50/50 (lecture/book)for his tests.

Read EVERYTHING he assigns, listen to his lectures and you will go far in his class. He is extremely helpful if you care enough to ask about something you are unsure of. He reminds me of an old-school punk who has walked the road less traveled. Amazingly brilliant!

He is pretty cool. you should actually read the text book (which isn't that bad for a textbook) but the book with all those articles is kinda worthless, you can def. get by without reading those. There are maybe 3 questions on the test from articles. should read stuff he emails you though. it's usually on the test. he tells cool stories.

He is average, he thinks his views are the w...right ones. He only teaches his side of controversial topics, doesn't take the opposing arguments that well. You do learn a lot but it is more than likely a going to be a bias teaching.

Straight baller. One of the smartest teachers I've ever had. Ask him any question and he will answer it as thoroughly as if he wrote the wikipedia page for it. He's definitely tough, but you will understand the material--no exceptions. I didn't even care about my grade in his classes, I just knew I walked out much smarter than when I came in.

There are only 3 exams and they're the only grades-not much margin for error. That being said, as long as you put in the time it isn't difficult stuff. Study your notes and any printouts. Read/watch the online supplements. Read the articles and textbook. Dr. Wright is incredibly smart and a great professor, who teaches some fascinating stuff.

He can come off intimidating, cold, and antireligious at times but don't take offense. Definitely witty, well-qualified, and antiestablishment. Helpful and nice if you seek it out. The whole grade is four exams so study the lecture notes and textbook a TON. Articles are a waste to read-tedious and barely mentioned in exams. Good class, hard work.

The online version of Sociology 111 is very difficult because of the way the class is taught. Your grade is based on three tests, each worth 100 points. The material is easy to learn, but the way his tests are worded make them difficult. I would not recommend taking this class online.

He's the best teacher at Sauk. If you try, you'll do well..and if you don't, then it's your own fault. For all of those who say they get straight A's and get F's in the class, obviously it's just not your career field. Get over it.

Dr. Wright's classes are incredibly difficult. The tests are not related to the material and are worded really badly. If you go to him for help he will just tell you to "do better next time." Straight A's and I get an F on his first test- come on!
