Jan is tops. I signed up for a history class she was teaching and was INSTANTLY impressed. If you're expecting to have your hand held and your butt wiped, don't let McFarlane teach you. Because she'll teach you alright... And if you're a complete bible thumping, closed minded person who thinks that time started with jesus - - this isnt your professor either. she sticks with proven facts and grades accordingly. If every prof. was like Jan I would have stayed in school. Sadly, she is one of a kind.

She's a good teacher, but I wouldn't suggest taking her your first semester in college, because you are still trying to adjust to college. She's very intelligent and she does stride for people to do their best. What's wrong with that? Nothing. She can tell when someone is actually trying or if someone is not trying. I'm not a person who understands History very well, I forget almost everything that I learn when it comes to history, but she's still a great teacher.

ms. Mcfarlane is the worst teacher ever, she annoys the whole class by saying "you know what i mean" every other word. i would never take her class not even if i was threatened by sadam husein. furthermore i would not recomend her to anyone, unless you enjouy failing your classes. i would not even recomend her class to them.

McFarlane is the worst professor I have ever had and I have had many. Her teaching methods are antiquated. She still uses overheads! She does not make the material interesting at all. She is very confusing. I would never sign up for a class with her her again. Her bedside manner sucks. I refer to her now as the Nazi.
