Janet is such an amazing woman. She's crazy about her beliefs &stands up for them like a true democrat. She made every tutorial interesting with her antics and animism and I learned ALOT. She is definitely a "tough love" kind of person but if you ask for essay help she takes your topic & writes a detailed outline for you. I'd love to have her again

I didn't get to do a course evaluation this year for Janet's class but I felt like I needed to come here and do this. Janet is such a wonderful educator. She is encouraging, passionate and I honestly wish there were more TA's and profs like herself. I don't usually go to tutorials so regularly, but with Janet, you look forward to it.

Janet is a very good TA and outlines what she expects in a clear manner, even if it is not the same as what the professor wants. She is knowledgeable on the material; however, is quick to refute any beliefs that are not in accordance with her own. In terms of marking, it is not easy to get an A with her unless you put in a lot of effort.

She's actually not that bad... If you do your readings and attend her tutorial - you'll do fine. She explains the material well so it helps when writing the exam. She's helpful and explains things clearly. She's really not that hard of a marker either...she's not easy but reasonable. I got a B+

Amazing TA. I just had her for the summer session and she was one of the best TA's I've ever had. She is extremely approachable and knowledgeable. She goes above and beyond to help her students. DON'T listen other reviews! Just attend her tutorials and you'll do fine in the class. She's a bit loud but its only cause shes passionate!!!

she marks down on anyone who express different opinion than hers. my friend and I gets almost same mark on all assignments with like 1 or 2 mark differences and my friend got A while i got C+! obviously she treat ppl not on academic performances but on personal liking. She literally screams during teaching. Worst TA ever seen, Avoid at all cost!

Horrible TA. She talks down to you, and yells throughout the entire class - i don't think she knows how to speak at a normal level. if you ask a Q she makes you look like an idiot. Wants things "her way" even though it doesn't follow MLA guidelines. Worst TA I've ever had.

Reminds me of a highschool teacher where she does most of the talking. Very clear instructions on assignments especially. Overall, good TA but would not accept opinions other than her own so assignments should be crafted to exactly what she wants to see.

Janet is so stubborn! She just cant admit when she's wrong. She is also an unfair marker and bases her marks on how much you write, sources and who YOU are paying no real attention to the actual work produced. She IS helpful one on one however. Just dont approach her on the attack because then she gets defensive and youll get nowhere.

I had her as a TA, and shes great! She was very helpful, approachable. Her instructions were very clear and she is very enthusiastic about her work. She was a fair grader, and she's extremely friendly! The best TA ive ever had!

Do not take her class. you are not allowed to disagree, and she constantly uses blatantly false facts, combined with illogical reasoning, to come to her conclusions. The worst part is that her conclusions have good arguments for them, but she does not use these good arguments. I would drop any class based solely on the fact she is teaching it.

I switched from a horrible T.A to Janet - and am glad I did. She is friendly and approachable, and keeps you interested during tutorials. She is clear about what she wants on assignments, and is a fair marker. We need more TAs like her at York..
