Comment:

One of the worst classes I have taken. She does not know how to properly lecture to a class. The information she tries to teach you in lecture, you can barely understand and don't realize you need to take notes on the information. Instructions for assignments were very unclear. For many assignments I was unsure of how to complete them.

Dr. Barrett is a fantastic teacher and very humorous! She is head of the english department and definitely knows her information; making this very known to her students. She does take attendance. If you dont attend class, you will miss the many assignments assigned, therefore reflecting in a poor grade for yourself. She makes you work for a grade!

Dr. Barrett can seem a bit random in her grading, but she lays the requirements out for you and expects you to do what is requested. She doesn't just hand you a grade, but makes you earn it. She was a little bit harsh on a few grading or evaluating areas but overall she explained why she graded the way she did, and gave suggestions for improvement.

Great and hilarious professor! Advanced Grammars confused the mess out of my class, and she understands that it's confusing and is willing to help. We had a few homework assignments, but not many. Tests and quizzes were over exactly what we went over in class. Highly recommended.

Dr. Barrett is a good professor, but this class was ridiculous. Should have focused more on resumes and cover letters, but spent a lot of time on useless material I will never use again, such as memos and a 20 page report. Wouldnt suggest this class unless you can handle stress/pressure. If the huge report wasnt enough, also had to do a powerpoint

You have to go to class but her lectures are pretty funny and intertaing, so it's not that bad. You do not have a lot of tests or homwork so you have to do well on what she gives you. She will work with you and tells you that..so if you need help take her up on her offer. I wish more professors were like her!

She is awesome!! She is a comedian and made this potentially boring class such a blast! She was always more than willing to help!!! Take her...sure she is a little hard and expects a lot from her students, but if you are willing to do the work, you will make a good grade. That is up to you!

Intro to Linguistics- gave us a 2 day midterm and took 6 WEEKS to give it back to us! SHE FAILED THE ENTIRE CLASS and proceeded to give us a FINAL in the SAME FORMAT!!! if she wasnt such a comedian i would have been first to drop... i DONT reccommend her!!!
