This is a fun class- we look at paranormal events in a scientific light. There are 2 super easy short response exams, and four 2,000 word Case Studies. They're on fun easy-to-write-about topics, and if you listen and follow directions, I promise you'll get an A. Lectures are interesting and hilarious. Lots of movie days.

One of the most rude people I've ever dealt with! I emailed the man several times about an assignment and he wanted nothing to do with my emails until i got an email saying i was failing the course and i had never spoken to him about this assignment. if there was a way to switch out of this mandatory class i would have done it long ago.

He has a strange sense of humor, but I found it funny. Brownie points if you understand his 70s music references. Class was interesting and mostly discussion, a few papers but nothing too bad. Tests are short essays; nothing complicated. Watched a few interesting movies. I'd take him again. He can ramble but his stories are entertaining.

Very cool and intertaining guy with a lot of knowledge about chemistry, but he is not very good at organizing lectures and explaining material to the class. You won't be prepared for the tests.

I don't care if he knows Penn and Teller or how much he loves some coca-cola...but he seems to think that we should think he is cool for this. Appling is the worst teacher I have ever had. Oh by the way I failed his class even after going to see him and studying the way he thought I should study...because he knows everything...except how to teach.

What to say, what to say. I'm gonna go ahead and say he's not a good teacher, though he tries hard to be. He thinks he's doing us a favor with his experimental ways, but I don't see it that way. He ended up grading really easy (all A's or B's), but that doesn't mean I know any more chemistry.

Appling is a VERY smart guy, but I think that sometimes he doesn't realize he is not getting through to the students. I would recommend taking him if you already have a background in Chemistry because goes throught the material really fast.

Very good teacher. He cuts through the bull and tells you the core of what you need to know. He explains relevant concepts very clearly and consicely. He can make some pretty difficult test questions, but nothing that a little critical thinking can't overcome. The 101 failers below are just bitter.
