Okay so, really nice person but a bit of a snooze fest of a prof. Lectures are so boring I could cry, all on Titanium. Unorganized, quiet, but a nice person. TA this class was ANNOYING but was only there like three times. Its all Interesting stuff to know but he teaches it so slow i lost interest. Few tests, monthly FB posts, Blog, and media paper

An interesting class taught by a boring professor. Wastes lecture time going on tangents. Doesn't respond to emails, super monotonous. No textbooks but there are two easy novels. You must read them to do well on the exams. He's super unclear about what will be on exam so read the lecture notes on his powerpoints and you'll be fine.

A few multiple choice tests, one short paper and a few other tasks. Test information comes mainly from the movies he assigns and the powerpoints (available on titanium). Not big on study guides but he clues you in on what you need to know. You don't have to put in too much work for an A. Class that makes you think. Would take again.

His Feature Article Writing class was one of the best classes I've taken at CSUF. He has 4 major papers that make up the entire semester grading. The fun part is you get to pick what you want to write about so you develop your niche. He gives great examples in class and provides strong feedback on your papers. You get 1 chance to revise your work.

There are 4 different types of articles that you will write. He gives you the option to pick whatever topic as long as it goes with the format (ex: profile piece, service piece, etc). You get to work on editing your story in class and he is really helpful if you need it. He doesn't use titanium and you never really know what your grade is.

Great professor overall. Very laid back and approachable. There are two required books to read, a few movies to watch, and only a couple homework assignments. Tests are easy as long as you took notes or just paid attention to his lectures. His instructions aren't always clear but he'll clarify if you ask. Do monthly Facebook posts for extra credit.

Prof Brody loves to see his students pass and enjoy class. His lectures are never boring and he encourages the class to engage in discussions. Very wise, lenient, and offers lots of extra credit opportunities.

Jeff Brody was a great teacher, I would leave class each time feeling inspired to be a communications major. There's three tests, one paper and a blog. So every point counts. Go to class and you'll do just fine.

Okay, first off, he goes on random tangents and I feel like I'm learning nothing. You have to go to class because there is no textbook but it feels like a waste of time. Study guides not accurate. Requires you to blog throughout semester. Tests are confusing. Make you read two novels that are somewhat irrelevant to tests.

Love this teacher! He went to Columbia Univ and has actually written for major publications, so he knows how to teach writing. He brought in a query he wrote to the LA Times, and then showed us their response and the changes he had to make so we could see the whole process. I had such a better understanding of the industry after taking this class.

Prof. Brody is a laid back guy and his lectures often have interesting components. However his tests (minus the first one) didn't follow his lectures. I'd study everything and be met with a test full of random questions we never really covered in depth. Stresses the blog more than anything. Got a B but could have gotten an A with any other prof.

He can be tough and intimidating. He treats his students like employees, which scares some of us, but I think this was an excellent way to go about things, considering the journalism field is rather competitive and tough. You're required to do the readings in this class. They're not boring; they're interesting and helpful. Highly recommend him.

Prof. Brody needs to understand that his students aren't gonna instantly become experts on his subject and that not everyone is a "hack writer" like he constantly talks about. He can be very discouraging and often threatens the class with pop quizzes while accusing them of not reading the material. He's a very hard grader. I wouldn't recommend him.

Super chill. The test is just stuff he said during class. You barely have to pay attention. The books he assigns are small informative books. Not hard to read at all. Class is really interesting.

Brody is very laid back. Talks a lot about current events, brings in recent media examples related to the topics. Lot of guest speakers and he will test you on them. Shows lots of videos, websites etc. which keep the class entertaining. He is forgetful though; doesn't remember one-on-one conversations or appointments. Overall an easy A.
