Dr. Wolinski is phenomenal. Definitely hard, but he's extremely helpful in office hours, interesting, genius, and inspiring. And he has rad suspenders. You have to get used to his teaching style a little bit, but he is one of the best professors at the school.

Nice guy but be prepared to do all of the learning on your own because the class times are pointless. Youre supposed to read the chapters, watch his lectures and do homework all on your own. If you havent taken physics before prepare to struggle.

Wolinksi is a great prof, and if you are taking him for this class it means you have had him before and/or will have him again. This, for me, has been the most challenging class I've taken so far. There are only two exams and a final, and they are incredibly intimidating. Good scores on the homework and your lab grade will help offset bad exams.

I always enjoyed his class, and it was normally not too hard to understand him. If you work through the homework and pay attention the class is not too much trouble. Lab can be dull, but Wolinski is open to trying stuff you suggest if the materials are at hand (such as freezing racquetballs in liquid nitrogen)

All the people saying he is teaching to people who have taken the course before are 100% correct. If you haven't taken physics before (I did) expect more work than any other class you take at GCC. My class was only 3 days a week and an hour long and the class should have been M-F 2hr each class. I'd say avoid this class but most majors cant.

He moves pretty quickly through the material, so if you have previous experience with Physics it will help a ton. I enjoyed him as a professor, but it was a good bit of work.

Dr. Wolinski seems to teach to only a certain type of student in this class--those who have taken physics before in high school or elsewhere. Fortunately, I fell into that category. This was still one of the hardest classes that I have ever taken. I have a few friends who took the class without any prior experience and they really struggled to pass

Dr Wolinski is a uniquely strange and hilarious man. But the problem is, for someone who doesn't like Physics at all, the class is very inaccessible. If you don't enjoy it going in, you won't enjoy it going out - unless you're willing to put in a TON of work. Far more work than this 4 credit-hour course deserves.

Dr. Wolinski gets a bit of a bad reputation for this course, but he is actually one of the smartest professors I have ever met. You will have to work hard, but if you put in the time and effort you can get a good grade. Go talk to him during office hours, and take advantage of opportunities like the SEM viewing sessions.

Physics is one of my least favorite subjects. But this guy explains the stuff well. He knows his topics, but the class is very hard. If you don't look for help, you won't pass. But the help is definitely there if you go to office hours or to the weekly student help sessions. Wolinski is a quirky guy, which makes lectures often quite amusing.

Dr. Wolinski taught his physics 101 class in an auditorium with 70 people, so it was understandable that he usually couldn't go into 1-on-1 detail about topics. He went through the information thoroughly, but the concepts were not easy, so things often didn't stick the first time. Tests were very doable if you understand all the homework problems.

Favorite professor here at GCC so far. Had him for 101 and 102 lab. Lots of fun, I thought he explained things well if you show up for class and pay attention.

Homework is very difficult if you don't have the answer key. Lectures are powerpoints he just reads, and they aren't always very helpful. Read book (and maybe slides) before class so you don't get completely lost. Tests are hard and long.

He teaches using ppt slides and completely ignores the fact that the wall behind him is a white board. I did ALL of the homework with Physics 1 and I understood the material less than in Calculus 2 where I did NONE of the homework. There is a serious problem here! Every time I went to office hours, he was either not there or was very impatient.

His lectures are just reading of the power points. The homework takes forever until you find the answer keys online. Tests are very difficult. His tangents in class over black holes and fighter jets of various kinds do not help anyone with any material in class. Have fun because he is the only one who teaches this class

He only read the powerpoints and therefore did NOT show us how to work out the problems. He did not adequately prepare us for the tests where most of the grade is determined.

Very smart, but reads the powerpoints. Very very funny (esp in emails). Advice: read the PPT he puts on the server and read the book ahead of each class, if you understand, skip. Difficult homework, great 1-to-1, exams semi-difficult. Study hard, memorize all the equations, you'll be fine

He's not the best at communicating the ideas, but he's one of the smartest professors on campus. All in all, pretty hard class, but once you get to Wagner you'll really miss the class. Just keep up with your work and study enough for the tests and you should be fine

I didn't get much out of Wolinski's lectures in 101, but in 210 he's awesome - one of my favorite professors so far.
