The class was somewhat boring. Sometimes the notes are helpful,but majority of the time, not very helpful so beware. Read course notes before going to class, and bring them along, because he uses examples from the course notes. I find that his review had some hints in them, so make sure you really look over the review notes.

Professor Lawless is both very nice and helpful during and outside of lectures. However, his lectures are rather boring and at times, his explanations seem a little scattered. Rest assured, you cannot go wrong with this professor, though this course is not as easy as most people suggest it to be.

K, I'm shocked to see the ratings on here so far. In Stat 231 he's nothing but boring and adds nothing to the content in the course notes. No sense of humor, no excitement, coverage is non-linear and confusing. Maybe he's better in other courses. Maybe 231 is just a terribly-written course, but I cannot recommend Lawless at all.
