Dr. Atwood is very interesting to listen to and he's such a kind professor who really cares about his students. I thoroughly enjoyed his world religions class. The class was just 3 exams and an optional paper. If you show up to class and write down what he says to write down, the class isn't difficult at all. Would recommend this man certainly

Just 3 tests & an optional paper if you need it to boost your grade. Such a sweet man who lectures the whole class with adorable dad jokes mixed in. He puts everything you need to know for the test on the board or in his reading guide, so if you take notes, look up the terms, and study a night or two before you can get an A no problem.

Great guy! So nice and wants you to succeed, but his teaching style is just talking at you. With such a monotone voice it's really hard to focus and he can kinda jump around topics making notes a little messy. Along with that, you HAVE to read the textbook cause he will throw questions at you that you've never heard before. Tough class.

Comment:

Easy way to get religion requirement. 2 tests and a final all weighted equally or 3 tests and a paper if you choose. All you have to do is show up to class and take notes over the terms he presents during lecture. These are the exact terms on the tests. Gives you 5 essay prompts that of which 1 will appear on the test. Great teacher!!

Great professor. Funny, wise, and easy class. Only three exams or optional 3 exams and essay, you choose. Tells you what you need to know for exams, and to remember ALL key terms. Only studied the night before and I got A's on all my exams. Great guy teaching a surprisingly interesting course. Take him for your RELI requirement.

Great professor. Easy to communicate with. Pay attention and write down the terms from the board and pay attention. Not any outside work. Do really well on the first 2 tests and then you won't have to take the final. I got a 95 and 98 on my tests without studying that much and don't have to take the final. Take him for your religion.

Dr. Atwood is a fantastic professor, tests are very manageable if you study the terms on the board and the terms on the studyguide and think about the essay questions beforehand you will pass easily. His tests cover a lot of material so don't take them lightly, but if you put in the time you can get an A.

Sects & Cults; I absolutely loved his class. He is a fun professor, and he is more than willing to meet outside of class. Make sure to the readings and go to class because his tests can be tricky if you haven't studied. However, the class was very interesting and so that makes it all worth it.

Although I found Dr. Atwood to be an interesting, fun teacher, I found the class next to impossible. There were questions on the testing things i had never seen before. Reading is a MUST. If you talk to him and let him know where your coming from he wil do his best to help.

He is such a good teacher and I find the class interesting! However, you do need to go to class, but when you go to class the course isnt too hard. He only has 3 tests, but for each tests he gives you 6 optional essay questions and one is on the test. I loved him!

I loved this class! It was very interesting material and the professor knows his stuff. You have to go to class and pay attention or else you will find this class hard. All his questions on the test are based on material from class. But he is always willing to help, and it very understanding. He grades on three tests and one optional paper.

Dr. Atwood is the BEST! He is an amazing man & I loved going to class to hear his lectures. However, be ready to study. Religion is hard no matter who you take, but I highly suggest Atwood. This was one of my hardest classes at TCU, but one of my favorites because I learned so much from Dr. Atwood. You must buy the book & you must come to class.

AMAZING PROFESSOR! Best class I have ever taken. It is hard to get in because it fills up immediately. Information was fun and exciting, he presented everything clearly and wrote out an outline along with key terms. Tests are flexible, allowing you to demonstrate knowledge in specific areas that you enjoyed/ understood well. Dr. Atwood is AMAZING

I really don't know how this prof is rated high. The way he organizes his class is terrible, only 3 tests, so if you mess up on 1 you're screwed. Rambled and rambled about unimportant facts. I really enjoy humanities and learning about different cultures, so this class was very disappointing. My GPA is a 3.65 so it's not as if I'm an incompetent.

LOVED him, HATED his tests. Great guy. Hard class. Must attend all classes. Takes roll & knows everyone's name. 3 tests, extra credit paper (not easy e.c., much research required.)Enjoyed listening to his lectures but tests are AWEFUL!! Must read books. Overall, awesome person, dreadful tests!!
