this dude is nuts. i had to sit in the front row(alphabetical seating) and man he made my life hell. he's a germaphobe(i think)! His classes are lively but thats mainly cause he's a little off his rocker. Take his class but don't expect just to sit there undisturbed the entire semester.

Avant is the man, he makes the subject fun. His main goal in the intro class is to get people involved and he gives almost unlimited extra credit opportunities. If you do bad in his class it is your fault

made a simple class complex and did not like the girls... nice to some, very harsh toward others. i dreaded coming to class. my advice: FLEE... it does not get better, and he quite possibly will ruin your gpa. i know people who absolutely love the guy, but NO ONE in my class saw that side of him.

What can I say, I hated him! He was extrememly insensitive to his students' needs and never gave us even a moments break between laps (at 8 am no less!) He kept telling us to "go slowly" but if you finished last, you didn't get a break at all. And NO ONE needs to see a man his age in just a Speedo, it was disgusting!
