This was supposed to be the easiest class you take as a freshman, but I have never cried over a class as I have for this one. The papers, it's like he doesn't even know what he exactly wants. He wants you to pay attention to minute details, and it feels like his grading scale is either an A or an F. I hated this class.

Not only is Dr. Brown the most condescending teacher I have ever, he does assigns homework that not only does nothing in the way of assisting my learning. His course has NO structure, and I sit through class waiting to see whether he will make a SINGLE unbiased comment. I honestly have hated my experience with him. DO NOT SUGGEST.

I can say with complete certainty that Professor Brown is the worst teacher I have had in my entire life. Not only are his papers completely ridiculous in terms of required length and depth, but his prompts were incomprehensible. I had to email him each time so he could explain what he really wanted, which i dont think he even knew....

jb is a really interesting professor. We have a lot of article readings for homework and have to post a question or something easy like that, but the papers after each unit are a bit harder. As long as you are good at simply following directions on the papers, you'll be fine. He's really approachable and I think he's a great professor.

He's an awesome Elon 101 professor, but his Global class is one of the hardest at Elon!! He's a really cool guy though--wears Tevas, jeans, and has his ear pierced. He's my advisor and I really like him.

If you're into learning, discussing, and writing about issues that are happening in the world today that affect so many people, he is great to take global from. He is so passionate about what he teachers, and he teaches it well. Great Professor to get you out of the Elon bubble that we get stuck in. Many long-ish papers, but on broad subjects.

Warning: this is NOT an easy global class. That being said it was one of the most interesting classes I have taken. All subjects covered relate to real life. He is passionate about what he teaches. Lots of papers, but pay attention and write well and you will be fine. You do have to include everything discussed. Overall engaging and exciting.

Anyone who says this guy is a good teacher needs to be institutionalized. You have 8 papers that are atleast 6 pages long and as long as 8 pages. You literally have to put everything he says in class in your papers to get a B. If you don't mind getting a C in a global class sure go ahead and take him, but be guaranteed you will get a C.

Great guy. Class is interesting and he is very into the topics that he teaches. Had like 6 or 7 papers. He's a very hard grader, must include ALL points in papers to get an A. I would recommend him as a global teacher though.

I loved this class. It will probably be one of my favorite classes I ever take here at elon. He is so passionate about what he is teaching that it passed onto me. You will have long papers to write (5-8 pages), but I recommend that you don't let that get in the way of experiencing this class. No cultural events to go to either!! :)

Assigned lots of readings and papers which were graded rather challengingly. He took forever to pass papers back, so you couldn't improve between them. The topics we learned about and the class discussions were interesting but there was just a lot of work.

Very hard professor. Which I find ironic because, to me, it is all very easy material. You write a ton of papers - and shouldn't expect a good grade on them. Otherwise, I learned a lot from this class and think he was a valuable teacher. Just a bit hardassed, a bit condescending, and a bit closeminded - his way is THE way (on papers especially)
