TERRIBLE PROF. Lectures are all over the place and horrible to understand, not to mention you'll fall asleep from boredom. Midterms are hard. Make sure you dont get on her bad side. She tends to hold grudges; bad talk you to the rest of the class and mark you bad out of spite. marked my essay a D+ and got another prof to remark it (ended up A-)

Jo-Anne was an amazing lecturer. I loved her class so much that I decided to switch my minor. You have to be passionate about the subject material in order to enjoy the class, as lectures are long and she does not provide notes. Reading the textbook is absolutely necessary.

Jo-Anne's lectures are exceptionally boring. For my WGST 1000 class she rarely mentioned gender or women and only seemed to talk about her dad and the World Wars which would be good if that's what the course revolved around. There were two tests (long answer and essay) a 20 minute group presentation and 12 1 page responses. Read the text!

I have a pretty good idea who rated Jo badly for the 3070 class. If its who I think it is, that person has no one but themselves to blame. Jo really cares about the people in her class and is VERY approachable about late assignments or problems with papers. She doesnt pick favourites but she sure knows which students actually picked up the book

By far the worst prof I have ever had. I found her very rude and unapproachable. She definitely picks her favourites. A lot of readings, readings for her class was equal to two other 3000 class. Do not recommend taking a class with her!

She's an amazing woman. Listening to her stories will help you understand concepts and all course material. She's not just telling them to entertain you! She is also very supportive of people as both students and individuals. Love her.

Amazing teacher who uses fascinating stories to illustrate the work. I highly recommend her. She is helpful, available, knowledgeable and expects a lot from her students. If you want to come out a stronger student and critical thinker, take her classes. I will take more from her, for sure.

I would recommend this class. Fiske is a very animated lecturer and includes personal stories to make the lectures even more interesting. She is a little intimidating for the first week or so then you begin to realize what an interesting and smart lady she is.

Dr. Fiske is one of the smartest individuals I've ever met. She is also extremely understanding and kind. She knows how to teach. If you are struggling in her class, go talk to her. She will make you a better writer and critical thinker. She expects a lot from her students because she believes we are capable of submitting quality work.
