She assigns a ton of reading every night. She'll randomly call on you and lectures are very boring. If she likes you, she'll give you a good grade. If she doesn't like you, she'll grade you very hard

Spiegel was one of my favorite professors I've ever had. She is so helpful to students and really makes class fun. She also helped me gain confidence in my writing. Like any college class, it does require effort. But once you are engaged, class is fun and you truly do learn a lot without realizing it.

boring class. tough grader. she expects way more than needed. 4 or 5 essays, 4 pages at least and the last essay was around 8 pages which was not on the syllabus as she put it as 'creative project'. she will call on you to answer her questions in class just because she doesnt have enough ideas to elaborate.

Not a good writer,hard class,got a C.She's the best writing instructor i've had.I learned alot from the readings and her points of view.Take her office hours,it helps alot and will most likely gaurantee a passing grade for "effort".

i absolutely loved her. She is always prepared and always knows what shes talking about. She's very helpful and lets you turn in rough drafts and peer reviews. I learned so much from her. There are numerous essays throughout the sem. but they're clear and fun. Not a heavy work load- i def recommend

This is a great class for those of you who are not good test takers- NO TESTS IN THIS CLASS! She assigns papers only. Even though she is a really hard grader, you will become a better writer if you take this course. She explains and presents the material well. I recommend taking her.
