Comment:

Lots of field studies/work, small class size because people were afraid of the work-made for a better classroom environment. Dr. Decker is a joy to learn from very passionate and enthusiastic. Showing up to class and participating is a must. She is tough, but it is worth it!

Comment:

Took her geo of health and disease class last semester and she was such a great professor, VERY VERY intelligent. The only thing I would have to say bad about her is that she makes you feel stupid whenever you ask questions or say something to her and she tends to yell. Loved her quizzes.

Comment:

Basically she is tough but fair. She is really knowledgeable and lectures are interesting. I learned more from this class than any other. She challenges conventional views and she doesn't tolerate disrespectful behaviour from students. If you are here to learn - she is great.

Comment:

She is very enthusiastic about this class, and got me very interested in health and disease. The library didn't order 40 texts books, which left almost half the class without them, and she helped out those students who didn't have them as much as she could. She is strict but very reasonable and fair. Very happy with her.

She is very rude and unhelpful. She screams at students when they talk and tests on irrelevant. She makes a point to put things on st. patricks, and around reading week so you cannot miss calss. Avoid her classes if possible

Very rude and condescending. Her lectures are impossible to follow; she talks a lot without saying anything. Her tests are pointless; it's like she's testing you just to see if you attended and asks random stuff... not important stuff. Treats you like an idiot if you ask a question. She picks favourites. Very unclear and all over the place.

Her slides are not organized, they're confusing and all over the place. Sometimes even when you ask her logical question she'll yell at you like you should know better... and although she says she's easy and understanding and will give you an extension if you want one, she won't, and will give you hell for asking.

Really enjoyed the class. Found Dr. Decker interesting, funny, and knowledgeable. Found her easy to approach and personable. The text for this class was really interesting, she choose a book that was written for people who know very little and the author has a sense of humor. Made the class better. Would take a class with her again.

Stephen Harper and his lack of solving native problems makes him an ineffective leader. Even though the liberals didn't do anything for natives during their reign, its ok. If you are a white male you should feel like anything ever done wrong to a women, native, and/or a minority in this country is your fault. There, I sumed up the course for you.

Knows what she is talking about BUT no point in going to lecture. Whole class is based on the readings in the tut. If you go for help she makes you feel stupid and like you never went to class (even if you were in all of them!) Major assignment was pointless and a lot of the quizzes weren't fair. I think she should stop teaching and just research!

Boring and narcissistic; Dr.Decker cares only for her own work and is able to take a subject with potential and turn it into a dull and labourious course with little or no educational value at all. Although some of the readings are intresting, most are dreadful and redundant. Tutorials are almsot as bad, but Dan the T.A. makes it tolerable...barely

Yeah... I feared my life if I missed class or the readings... But she really loves what she is teaching which is awesome because you don't get that much at university. She really tried to make the topics interesting, most of the time it didn't work. Just go to tutorial skip the lecture because it's not worth your time.

pasionate, and SMART. Not much of a bedside manner if you want to be babied, but supportive if you pull your weight and very encouraging if you are not a baby. she inspired me and sparked my interest in many things.
