sweet old man :) Class not mandatory but he gives easy EC pop quizzes. He drops your lowest test. DONT BUY BOOK NEW go to bookholders and pay $5. He gives you review tests for each test-those will be on test. If you google the chapters there will be a website that will have more review questions that will be on test. SUPER EASY. He is very monotonous, but he loves what he does, he is a great teacher but he just reads off his power points so you really don't need to go to class. But I am warning you, he gives out easy extra credit, and he doesn't tell you when he is going to give it out. Plus he gives a lot of study review questions. Test are hard and long,100Questions each

Mr. Gould is a sweet man but his classes are boring. He is monotone and just reads off the powerpoints which he posts online. Attendance is not mandatory and its sometimes really hard to convince yourself to go to the class. Know the vocab for his test, most questions are based on them.

Joe Gould is the oldest yet nicest man living in the world today. He is extremely smart and helpful and if you dont take his class you are really missing out. He is a soft soothing voice but also has a microphone so you can hear him better. IF YOU ARE TRASH AND WANT TO JUDGE HIM FOR BEING A SAINT then dont take this class. pce.

Gould is a great professor. He was definitely born to teach this subject; loves what he does. He is extremely nice; out of a class of 300+ students he always remembered my name and he was even kind enough to ask me how I was after being out sick for a while. Take his class, but be sure to study, because tests are HARD.

Somewhat challenging class, dont need to bother going to class unless you want the extra credit which is ALOT, about 50 points in overall grade out of 600. The tests are hard if you dont study, I was emotionally distraught days before each test. Dont bother emailing the teacher, he doesnt know how to use email. Doesnt reply back.

His class was easy but you don't contact him very much. Just read the book and take notes. Reading alone makes the quizzes harder, only 8-10 ques. He worked with me while I was in the hospital and I still made an A. Great class.

This class is so EASY! i got a 107 in the class! You take a 8-10 question quiz every week. You can take it 2X, best grade is what u get. You write 12 papers for the class. You write 5 long ones, which have to be 2-3 pages. You write 7 short ones, which are 3/4- 1 1/3 of pages long. Only 10 are mandatory, but do all of them-TRUST ME, ITS WORTH IT!!

Prof Gould is sweet old man who knows his stuff and does his best to help you understand a really boring subject. He curves generously and allows for extra credit. But the thing is, you have to try too. Do the reading and go to class and you'll pass. I recieved an 89% and he gave me an A. How many professors would do that?

Thought it was a fairly easy class if you read the book and go to class. His tests are difficult, but if you do the mc questions online and at the end of each chapter you should be alright. I do think he may start doing quizzes in class next semester. Buy the book and go to class!

fairly easy if you read chap study guide and do the online and end of chap test. look at the diagrams to understand what's going on. he drops the lowest exam. final is noncum. he might start doing quizzes again because the class is so easy. overall, very nice but not so good with the power points, tells you what you need to study for tests though

Tough Class, he stopped doing quizzes this semester&I think he thinks its a mistake&probably will start doing them again. You definetly need to read the book you cant just take his tests from his power point cuz there is not enough. He winds up adding 5 to 15 extra points to the test grades,but it doesnt help that much bc his test are really hard

Very easy class, very nice proffessor. Cool fieldtrip in the summer. If you read the chapters and take a look at the online tests and ask him about the quizzes it will be one of the easiest A's you'll ever get. Would take the class again just for the small amount of work I have to put into it.

One of the hardest professors I have ever had. No matter what you do you can NOT study for his exams. I ahve written him emails asking for help and to mset up meanings and they have all gone unanswered. His lectures are painfully boring and uninformative. I would NOT recommend this teacher to ANYONE.

Watch out for this guy, he's tricky. He seems like a nice old man, but he's a really lazy teacher. everything he teaches in class is useless and his tests are extremely difficult. you can study the book and your notes from his lectures, but his tests are the type where even if you were to take it home and work on it, you still couldn't do well.

Mr. Gould is like a sweet old grandpa. He is available whenever you need help. It is pretty easy to get an A in the class if you study a decent amount for the quizzes and tests. Overall, if I had to do it over I would still take his class. It is smart to take this class with the lab, because it helps to hear the partially boring information twice. Parts of the class are sort of interesting, but all in all, rocks are just rocks!

super boring. if u want to fall asleep in a half hour then go ahead and take this class. i couldn't keep my eyes open. very nice and helpful if you use the office hours. Basically, tests are from the book. If you don't read it then you're screwed.
