Comment:

Jo is a fun, relaxed, enthusiastic teacher. She promotes a liberal viewpoint but I think she does make an effort to discuss both sides. Her weakness is getting off topic on a regular basis, but I'd rather have a passionate teacher than a boring, egotistical or patronizing one. Use her study guides instead of worrying about textbook progress.

Comment:

Jo is passionate, but was often wrong about things she thought she knew something about. One would hope that a PoliSci teacher would know that Nixon resigned and Jackson was impeached, and something of the Alien and Sedition Acts. I would never take a class from her again and would advise against for anyone with above average knowledge of PoliSci.

I thought Jo was a good teacher. She seemed to repeat herself often, but she did get the point across. All test questions were essays. She has a definate liberal bias, but was pretty tolerant of other peoples' viewpoints. She brought her unique life experiences to the classroom everyday. Slight accent.

She's a pretty good teacher, but she kind of talks in circles and says the same thing over and over and over. She good once she gets going and stays on track. The first day she took 2 1/2 hours to say what could have been said in twenty minutes.

Jo is the type of teacher who gets you fired up about politics, even at 8 in the morning. She's very enthusiastic about her work, and she shows how what she's teaching about connects to today's issues. Really easy. Only complaint is that she has a very liberal slant to her teaching. Overall, she's very good at what she does.

This is the person you want for a political science teacher. An immigrant to the country, she's an unbiased critic and nearly everything to come out of her is an insight. She has multiple masters degrees and has learned from life too as an immigrant, migrant worker and latina woman. She's brilliant, happy and helpful.

She is very liberal, but it's Washington. Good teacher and really easy to get along with. DOn't worry about her attendance policy where if you miss one day your grade goes down, I missed about 2 weeks and still got an A. Terrific instructor.

She was so stupid. if you want to sign up for a class where your grade counts on daily attendance, and your views on gay marriage, enjoy. otherwise, take it from ricky p. a teacher shouldn't shove her liberal beliefs down your throat. but she was the most one sided person which is bad when you are TEACHING political science. anyway, whatever.

Awsome teacher keeps attention by joking about politcs. The subject is good stuff 2 know. pretty easy but lacks in clearity at times. I recomend this teacher because she made the class!

Awesome instructor, truly cares to see her students do well. If you need help, it's there all you need to do is ask for it. The best in her field. It's a lot of work, however she gives you plenty of time to get it done. I've had the worst and the best teachers and she's one of the greatest! Thanks again Joharra!

Truly horrid. Her teaching is inconsistent with the testing, her grading is capricious and for a one hundred level course there was too much material. She can be very hostile when people don't understand/don't agree. She gives liberals a bad name. One of the worst teachers I've had at WCC.
