RECOMMENDED: He is the most high-energy teacher I have ever had. Come in with energy yourself and he'll latch on to you, but he also tries to involve the whole class. He is absolutely willing to help--I had failed three english 101 classes before him, but I earned an A with him. We still keep in touch.

CRAZY! And wicked cool!! I've never laughed so hard in a class before! Very sarcastic humor and finds really interesting topics to bring up. Really into class discussions and synthesizing essays and whatnot. Definitely knows what he is doing and pushes everyone to speak up and try their best!

John Brown was a very fun professor! He loved to have class discussions; this was generally fun but sometimes things were way over-thought. Very quirky type of guy but I would recommend him to anyone! Loves to meet with students one-on-one in his office! Pretty funny too :)

Probably one of the best teachers I've ever had. I don't normally talk in class but I felt totally comfortable doing that in his. He is passionate about his subject and wants you to be too. He comes across as a bit eccentric but I think it works in his favor. I would recommend him to anyone.

Really easy english class. In his essay assignments he has a page requirement and a word count requirement. The word count requirement is not something he enforces...he only counts pages. On a couple of my essays I was just short of the page limit so I turned up the font a point and he was happy...made no actual changes to the essay.

He has troubles keeping names strait but is always willing to help you succeed either by reading your paper in his spare time or going over technical things that will help you become a better writer.I highly suggest taking his courses

John Brown is amazing. My absolute favorite teacher ever. I'm taking my second class with him this year and I love it. We actually have kept in contact even when school isn't in session, so it's nice to meet a professor that cares about his students beyond what's in class. His class are hard, but in a good way and the readings are often very good.
