He is a nice man and friendly but this class is so hard the only thing I learned was how to go nights without sleeping trying to finish the 12+ hours of work he assigns a week. this class is an absolute NIGHTMARE. Prof. seems oblivious to how much the majority of the class is struggling. The worst class i've taken at Pace

He is the best Professor I have ever met! I am so surprised seeing so many negative comments about him. Yes he gives a lot of assignments, yes he wants you practice a lot, yes he wants you know some excel before starting his class, but HELLO you are doing an MBA here or MS whatever. Stop whining, start working!! I looove Prof. Carter. He is #1.

6+ hour HW / week. 10 assignments, 2 portfolios, 2 tests. Grades on Assignment, portfolio, class participation, and tests. Its not really an easy class but the important thing is if you intend to learn things, you should definitely take this one!! The HW though long, reinforces classroom concepts. And this makes you remember things longer.

Gives a lot of very time consuming homework and gets frustrated when students don't understand very hard material. Says that he wants to help, but only explains the information in one way. Exams are the toughest I've encountered during my MBA and I am not averse to working hard. Take the course with a different professor.

Doesn't teach from the book, but tests and homework are from the book. Homeworks are long if you don't have MASTERY of Excel. Exams are tough, especially if you are full time, work and have other things going on in your life. Gives more homework in his class than my last 2 semesters put together. Save this class for your last semester!

Teaches off of slides mostly and is impossible to understand if you are completely new to excel and/or statistics. Will not go over actual problems with you so help reinforce how to solve them. If you ask him to show you how to do something on excel after he mentions it, he looks at you like you are the biggest idiot on earth.

If u know very well about excel and statistics before, he is an angel and you will see the thing he is teaching is actually what you've learned before. Nice'n easy. However, if you knew nothing about excel and statistics(especially not good at maths), he is a devil. Based on your knowledge,and choose him or not.

Avoid if possible. >6 hours of homework a week. Refuses to provide you with concise feedback on the homework. Will instead show you a picture of an excel model - which really doesn't help at all. Prof curves exams (which are all but impossible). exams are 3 hours but you need 5 to complete. class is rigorous and makes you feel hopeless. AVOID

He covers a lot of material, but he really knows his stuff. Get geared up for this class, because the HW is long and tedious. You wont pass without doing it though. He is helpful to a point, but he wants you to figure things out on your own rather than give answers.

I have just finished his class, and he is the worst professor i have every taken. His teaching is horrendous he can not get his point across, i have never seen teachers use slides to teach statistics. His teaching skills are non existent and his final exam is completely useless as he never prepares you for the manslaughter you are about to face.

Teacher gets a bad rap. It is tough and takes time because at this point in school most don't have the excel skills required. However upon exiting his course I see myself cruise through later work that people who avoided him struggle with. It's grad school people, put in the time or go home

As long as you can switch professors then do so immediately! He is one of those guys who prides himself on impossible exams and then acts as if the exam was easy. The knowledge is useful but save yourself the stress and take someone else

The only good thing about this class is that attendance is not mandatory. Be prepared to spend a lot of time on homework assignments. The tests are fair, but he doesn't let you use a computer for the final exam. This makes things very difficult since the class is based on Excel. Reading the text is more useful than the powerpoints.
