I would definitely not recommend this teacher. He comes in late and missed many classes due to personal reasons which left us all scrambling to learn several problems by ourselves for the finals.

Pretty much what the other comments have said all rang true in my experience in the Summer session. Great guy. Tests came exactly from practice set of problems he gave in class. DEFINITELY study those. Can use formulas sheets for test, so no memorizing of the MANY formulas there are. He loves the material and it showed. Great curve too!

Great professor, exceptional clarity and all around class. Gets you fired up to learn how to build and manage your 401K. Loves margaritas and golf. Take great notes, go to class and practice the problems he will give you and you should do well.

Great professor! I was dreading this class based on the subject matter, but he managed to make very difficult concepts seem not-so difficult. He is also extremely nice, funny and intelligent. Pace is so lucky to have him - far and away one of the best professors at Lubin.

Prof Gavin has a vast knowledge of the subject. He also is a practioner in the field (he's a Finance Executive in a major telecommunications company). The class is not easy;the concepts are quite abstract if you've never taken a finance class before. However, he teaches you the basic principles, building a good foundation for advanced finace course

Exceptional! His love for what he does is quite evident in his enthusiasm. There is not a thing about finance and financial history that thhis professor doesnt know. He teaches well, grades fair, and his assignments are useful. you will actually learn something....Great Guy!! Someone I wish taught more courses!! Full marks to Pace for hiring him!!
