Professor Haas is the type of person I wouldnt mind going out for a drink with, but wouldnt want to have as a teacher. He gets EXTREMELY off topic in class and his lectures do not help you prepare for his exams. Dont get me wrong, hes a great guy who has interesting life stories to share, he just sometimes forgets were here to learn history.

This is a professor who makes the class worth it to come. Although sometimes he gets sidetracked on making his lectures around his family its still worth it. He gave us e-tutorials, study guides, and if you still need the help seek him during his office hours. He is one of those teachers that cares. Also highly recommend reading the book, it helps

He's a good professor that really cares that his students pass. Basically you just gotta go through his study guide and read the chapters and you'll get an A. You gotta read those chapters if you wanna do well, read 10 pages a day and you'll finish a chapter in a couple days lol.

Dr. Haas is clearly passionate about the fields he teaches in. He cares about his students passing his class. Very straight forward on what he expects from you, does what he says. Listen to the lectures, read, and use study guide and you'll pass just fine. Having a teacher with passion is a privilege too many students take for granted.

Dr. Haas is a tough one. Hes an awesome person with a true passion for his field. However he goes off topic A LOT. If i were tested on his daughters names, school they attend or his love of coffee then i would have gotten an A. Hes really cool though, no notes, no homework & offers extra credit always. Just read and youll be fine.

He's a great professor, even though he tends to go off topic a lot. As far as work goes, it's not much, but not little either. Just like any other class, you just have to pay attention in order to pass. ENGAGE IN HIS DISCUSSIONS. He's not an uptight professor like most. He's a friend... that happens to control your fate in the class.

If you are willing to read the charters thru the entire semester and able to pass exams without homeworks , then I recommend you taking his class. He could be jumping off the point sometimes but overall he's awesome and hilarious!

He's a great teacher. He's very clear when he teaches, he sends you power points & outlines on the material through emails, so you could study for the exams. He wants all of his students to pass his class, he will everything he can to help you pass the class. He also has a really good sense of humor. I recommend him as a Professor. He's really good

I skipped a lot of classes and never even bought the book. You don't need to listen to his lectures since they tend to go off topic. Most of the stuff on the tests are on Quizlet. Look up the book+chapter. For the essay just study or look at videos on YouTube, such as Crash Course. If you don't get an A it is because you didn't try. *Hist 245/246

Hard tests and all he lectures about his his wife and kids and how they suck the money out of him and how he would rather be single because he would of been rich and he sells drugs in the school parking lot to make extra money. if the test was on his family and how much he wants to find a girlfriend you'll pass but guess what its about HISTORY!!!!!

I took his course about 15 years ago! I now have a son who just graduated high school and I can only hope he has a professor as awesome as Dr. Haas. He made history interesting! Everything was connected - one continuous novel as opposed to boring date memorization. I wish I could hear him speak just for fun. Any DVD's of his lectures?

Mr Haas is a really cool guy. His lectures are long and most of the answers on the test will come from the book. He gives a study guide weeks before the test, with more than enough time to study. Offers a lot of extra credit. Genuinely cares about students passing.

I love history, which is why I am a History major. After taking professor Haas, I found myself doubting my major. He claims to care, he claims to be in touch with the students, but try having a conversation with this guy and it'll be clear he only wants to hear himself speak. Brags too much about his PhD, his money and he is boring.

This is my 2nd semester having Dr. Haas and he is an amazing professor. He tries to put history in a more global and human point of view, though you may get lost when it comes to stories about his wife, children, etc. You can pass the class by just listening to the lecture, but if you want an A you have to read the book.
