Great professor, really knows his stuff. Funny and informative, as well as helpful. His voice could narrate the history channel and he is a real expert in his field. As close to Indiana jones as UVic will ever come. Highly recommended.

A very decent guy! Not trying to impress anybody, very down to earth, but really knows his stuff (this became more and more clear as the weeks went by). Makes the course accessible to those with not much background (me). Lots of studying required for exams, but his outlines are so clear you know exactly what to look at. Good sense of humour too!

Good person, fair marker. BUT goes way off topic--too much political history and irrelevant info., not enough focus on the actual artistic style (ie. tying it all together). His voice is great but makes me want to sleep, in a Mesmer-esque kind of way. Course involved too much memorization for me.

sure he's knowledgable, but he's a terrible lecturer, very dry, is led off topic easily. the course is the ART and ARCHITECTURE of Rome, but boiled down to a study of it's political structure, terrible waste of time.
