Comment:

Be prepared to be confused, he does have an accent but he is understandable. The problem is his teaching method. When he does board work he is constantly erasing and doing the same problem over again in another way then erasing and doing it over again. You don't really get a clear understanding of how he wants the questions answered.

I have taken him twice. First time was alright, easier subject. Second time, awful. I could go on and on about how bad he is. I give one example. Syllabus clearly states: Test 2: 4.1-4.5. Test 2 was on no such material but the material that was for Test 3. I received 25 on test 2 and a 100 on test 1. I studied alot for test 2, just the wrong stuff.

I took Calculus one with him over the summer. He was hard to understand but wrote everything he said down. He graded fairly and easy. Thanks to his grading system I actually passed, whereas the first time with another professor I failed. Horribly. I recommend him. He'll seem difficult at first but he comes around!

Comment:

He's a really nice teacher and will help clarify anything you do not understand. He's hard to understand but he writes everything down on the projector. The only problem I had with this is that he constantly forgot to move the paper up to see what he was writing. He grades fairly easy and will give you partial credit for a problem.

Comment:

Difficult to understand when he's speaking. However if you cannot understand what he is saying, if you pay attention to what he's writing you should be able to understand it. Very nice and intelligent! 3 tests and a final 10% for attendance. Very lenient when it comes to grading, one early mistake will only cause you to lose a few points.

I took differential equations and numerical methods 2 with Dr. Du, and he is awesome. He's very straightforward, flexible, and will clarify if needed. You have to learn your stuff, but I would still say he's an easy grader. Plus he's wicked smart.

Dr. Du is such a nice guy! Your grades are based off of 3 tests and a final. He drops the lowest test grade and always manages to give you credit on any problem. His tests are rather easy. I didn't do any of the homework problems and still managed to get out of the class with a high B. He also offers extra credit. Would take him again & recommend!

This is the 2nd Class I've taken with Dr. Du. He was helpful with explaining very abstract ideas and complex methods. The class consists of 4 projects and tests. The projects are tough, but the tests are essentially what is on the project. You are able to use the programs you wrote for the project on the test. Great professor. Would take again

Dr. Du is an awesome teacher. If you don't understand him, ask him to repeat or explain it differently and he will. I think the room he gets assigned hurts his teaching style (Writing on an overhead). Knows his trig and calculus dead cold. Absolutely wonderful resource if you use him correctly.

I really enjoyed Diff EQ with Dr. Du. At first it was difficult to understand him, but he basically tells you what is going to be tested. Also the final was optional.

Professor Du is a nice guy; however, I would not recommend his class for calc. He was hard to understand b/c of his slight accent and soft tone even though I sat fairly close to him. His teaching was all over the place & disorganized, and his writing was sloppy. Calc can be a difficult course, but its WAY harder if you have the wrong professor.

Worst professor ever! Does not have any grasp of the English language. Attendance is 10% of grade. Cannot understand him, or read his notes that he puts on the overhead. He is stuck in the stone age as far as technology is concerned. No notes are posted online. Avoid at all costs. Worst prof I have ever had, bar none!!!!

Horrible! I sat right up front and I still could not understand him. He can't be bothered explaining concepts. He just sits on his high chair and writes on the overhead. His writing is sloppy and he makes numerous errors. I have had difficult or hard profs before and math is my major but he just sucks. Avoid him at all costs.

Dr. Du.. well let's just say if you're not good at math, don't take any of his courses. Like others have said, he can be difficult to understand at times and he does move quite quick through the sections in each chapter. But still, he is extremely helpful and dedicated to teaching. His calc class has ended up pretty easy for me.

Dr.Du is very helpful but he is kinda hard to understand.Do not sit in the back because you will hardly hear him.I disliked his class because his grades are based on 3things:tests,quizzes,& attendance.I hated the fact that he gave us HW that was not graded.If you are not well rounded in math, he's not the best to take.The last section was the worst
