She is very thorough. Covers a lot of material, but is VERY eager to help and explains things in diff. ways to try and help all learners! Gives example tests too! She doesn't give surprises, tests are explained well before taken.

Witty and knowledgeable, Starr continues to be my favorite teacher of all time. Also, she will not judge anyone adversely for being goth or punk or alternative or w/e, and will not underestimate you because of your appearance.

Susan is one of the best profs out there. Yes, the material was hard (it's A & P after all!), yes, the tests are challenging, but you come out of the class KNOWING the material, not just getting the grade. If that's important to you, then take her! She loves teaching & knows the material. Challenge yourself, and you will do fine, I got an A+

You CAN NOT use ANY notes on any tests/quizzes so the comments from 08 on here are irrelevant. You will study tirelessly and constantly and still not get an A due to the enormous scope of the exams and poorly written, confusing, over-detailed, ridiculous questions. Switch to a section run by an instructor who can clearly teach and write an exam.

I earned a 99% in Susie's class. Her class was great but difficult. The key to doing well is to copy all of her practice exams (she reuses statements all the time) and writing teeny tiny on the notecard and fitting as much info on it as possible. It would also be advised that you write out your essay on your notecard.

Susan taught me a lot! She was very challenging and I feel that she really prepared me for my future career in nursing. If you study hard and love to learn about anatomy...you will love this class. If you want an easy A, go else where.It feels great when you work you tail off and EARN an A in her class!!!

Susan is great! There is a lot of material to cover in this course regardless of the teacher. She does a great job explaining it and is always willing to answer any questions you may have. Some students have complained but if you put in the effort and study for the exams it's worth it. I am up for challenging courses and this one hit the spot.

She is very hard!!! She teaches you good study habbits, but it is almost possible to get a 2.5 in her class. She doesn't really care if you talk to her about how to raise your grade, if you just need 2% points. She says, "at least you passed" Only take her if you want to retake the class.

Susan is ridiculously hard, not helpful at all, and negative. She tells you straight up that you will mostly likely fail if you don't only take her class and only study for her class. If you tell her your having trouble she'll say you have test anxiety and refer you to the learning center. If I wanted to be a brain surgeon I wouldn't be at WCC!

If you have the chance of getting this teacher, switch. Her lab quizzes are beyond ridiculous; having to know 50+ bones for a TEN point quiz. In her lecture she will go off on a tangent and then say (after you are furiously writting), "But, that's beyond the knowledge of this class". I think she's forgotten that this isn't gross anatomy anymore.

Susan Starr is a very nice and devoted professor. She is very helpful; if you email her, she will reply immediately within hours on the same day. She has good sense of humor making the atmosphere of a difficult class more pleasant and much lighter. Her goal is for you to be a good medical student.

Susan is a nice person who will help you when asked. However, she makes a lot of mistakes and sometimes you get more than one answer that contradict the book. The worst part are the tests. 10 point lab tests every lab. tests are multiple/multiple choice and too detailed for a lower level class.

Susan is very hard and very unhelpful. I'm willing to work for a grade if I know I'll have help along the way and respect from the professor... she says on the first day of class that more than half the class will end up dropping. That told me how much she cares about how well her students do.

This is a very tough class (regardless of whose teaching it)&, I don't feel that she's structuring it in a way that's beneficial and realistic. Although she's nice, you'll get high blood pressure if you even get past the 2nd week..
