Read Knowing and Teaching Elementary Mathematics by Liping Ma if you want to know the angle these classes are based on - makes digesting this method of learning (and teaching) math easier and more complete. I recommend reading it before taking this class (even better before or during 385).

She is a good teacher, the format of the class is what is difficult. There is minimal explanation presented by the teacher, which is frustrating. Very little structure to the class. Be prepeared to put in a tremendous amount of time in this class.

Such a wonderful person and a great teacher. She is tough, but the class itself is tough no matter who you have. She is extremely nice and willing to talk to you one on one about the work. I definitely recommend her for MATH 385.
