Professor Fischel is the nicest professor I've had this semester. She is a very straight forward grader, meaning she tells you exactly what she wants from you and if you do it, easy A. Her midterm and Final is a little challenging but if you read the book, then you're set. Highly Recommend.

Excellent professor. Genuinely knows the subject. Is a fair grader...if you put out an A effort, you will get an A. You WILL be a better speaker by the end of her class. Dont really need the textbook. Highly recommend.

Very rough on judging speeches, dont really need the book, theres a midterm and final, that's the only thing you need a book for, you can borrow a friends. You give 3 speeches. a how to, an informative, and a persuasive. Those are your only grades, be sure to practice and have visual aids.

Comment:

Anyone who complains about this woman being a sucky teacher sucks themselves. This class is challenging and yes her face is intimidating, but she's an EXTREMELY nice woman who is passionate about her work! The tests will be rough on you if you don't read the book (Between One and Many), but this woman is a great professor! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

From frist impression and appearences she may seem mean. But she is actually a really nice professor. Make sure to read the book before taking an exam to cover the things she didnt in class. She is a relativly easy grader when it comes to your speeches. I would recommend her.

A difficult class to say the least. Speeches needed lots of time to write with all of the technical aspects. She was very boring and should really apply her curriculum to her own class. However, I did learn how to give a superb speech.

I loved her! I hated the idea of speaking in public, but by the end of the class it really wasn't that bad. Take advantage of her office hours, she is always very willing to meet with you. Take her for your speech requirment!

she was a great teacher. always willing to answer questions and help out. the only thing i have to complain about is her grading. she did not award points and only gave comments on our speeches. there was no way of tracking the different aspects of our speeches and no way of tracking our improvements.

I wont lie, it was a tough but rewarding class. If you do well in her class, you will be a very solid speaker. She grades the speeches you give hard but fairly. If you put any time or effort into her class you will not only pass but excel. She knows her stuff, 18 years of teaching speech. I highly recommened for anyone wanting to learn speech well.

Prof. Fischel is a certified speech pathologist. Need I say more? She is well versed and exacting in what she expects from her students. Follow her tuteledge and it is an easy course. For a necessary evil, this class proved to be valuable for public speaking skills.
