Comment:

She is one of the best professors in the communication department. She is very lenient with due dates for assignments within the client project because she understands that some clients take a while to get back to your group. The quizzes are pretty easy as long as you study the AP writing rules, etc. She gives a lot of extra credit assignments too.

She's almost too nice. When you go to ask her for clarification, she's so focused on being accommodating its hard to get a straight answer. I like that the group project has mock interviews and assigned group roles - good practice for professional life. Grading didn't happen until the very end on the project for the most part. Good overall.

She's amazing! Dr. Rowan will help you out with everything and anything. The class is really easy, I would have loved not to buy the green book, but you can save it and use it as a resource. Her lectures are good, short. Usually makes you work, so one gets to learn a lot about the field. Also a lot of guest lectures which is AWESOME. Overall great!

Love her! Prof. Rowan is a gem at Mason. Other communication professors should take notes. I have taken almost all of the comm. professors and none of them measure up. Classes are lecture based, easy assignments with great feedback, midterm and final, 2 group projects. I highly recommend all public relations students to take her over anyone else.

Dr. Rowan is a great teacher. She really loves public relations and enjoys teaching it. She has lots of relevant assignments, similar to what you'll be doing in your real world job. And she has wonderful speakers come to the class. If you are a PR student, I highly recommend Professor Rowan.

I love Professor Rowan! She's very nice, understanding, helpful, and motivating. Class was engaging and we had interactive assignments that help with public relations. (write press release and learn PR crisis management). A few quizzes, a few projects, no final. Would definitely recommend her and take her again!

Professor Rowan is a bit unorganized but her class is extremely useful and interesting if PR is your concentration. She is VERY helpful with trying to get students internships and jobs and has great connections. She even wrote me a letter of recommendation.

I heard she was the best. I was excited starting out in her class, but she wasn't organized. Her syllabus was what kept her going to remember what she had planned for us. The english 3200 book sucks but she is fair and lets you take quizzes over. And she gives way to many assignments.

Take this class if you're a PR concentration. She gives you the opportunity to build a good writing portfolio. There are only a couple of easy writing tests and you rarely stay for even half the class time. She grades in a very lenient manner, but does give great contructive criticism.

It seemed like this class was very secondary in her life. She was kinda unorganized and lectured about common sense crap that wasnt on the test. The tests are not as easy as the course is. STUDY !! You dont learn too much about the field of PR, but she does bring in guest speakers. She's aight, but its not an easy A!

Lots of small assignments. Her exams are weird, you have to know nitpicky things. 3 tests total - one w/in the 1st month of the semester, then a midterm & final. The final is given b4 the actual final date. Major project 2nd half of semester where u have to pick a non-profit company (i.e. Red Cross, GMU sports game) & use PR to increase attendance.

Very helpful and enthusiastic. Makes class somewhat fun even if you aren't a PR major. Assignments aren't hard at all. Overall, she is a good professor and the class is good as well.
