I have taken/taking 2 classes with her so far. I think she is an intelligent prof, who genuinely wants students to succeed. She LETS (ok, forces) you to bring in a one page of notes for all the exams! That makes her exams a breeze. Average lectures and sometimes boring. But she's always willing to help you out if you ask for it.

I was going to give her a negative evaluation based on lacklustre lectures, information overload, lack of clarity, and terrible exams. BUT, I got through it, and not only do I find I have retained a lot of info, but her assignments taught valuable research methodologies and gave me tools for enhanced critical thinking. Plus she is VERY bright

Liscomb is a sweet sweet woman, but she is a terrible teacher. The majority of the assignments/exams take the form of multiple choice questions. She allows almost zero subjective interpretations. The subject was fantastic, but she offered it in a disappointing manner. I wish should would offer more written assignments as multiple choice is limiting

Very knowledgable professor. Her lectures tend to be a bit boring, but you need to take notes as well as read the coursepack in order to do well.

She gets really flustered when talking about medieval Japanese prints of people having sex. Pretty funny. Overall a very knowledgeable prof who ensures her students do well. Study for her tests and talk about as much as possible in your answers.

she expects you to work hard and retain ALOT of information - lots of reading for her courses but her paper marking is very reasonable. Do your studying and you'll be fine. DO NOT study for her exams the night before, or even two days before. Shes very kind and realizes that her subject can be hard.

Retaining information from her was very difficult, stick to the text given, her notes made my notebook look like one big circle. Some enthusiasm from the prof would have kept me awake and interested.
