The worst teacher I ever had. Threatened by students with more knowledge and analytical ability than him. A seriously limited individual.

The material was awesome--horror fiction is a nice break from the regular lit classes. Dr. Neilson was boring but nice. He's retiring this year, but if they continue the horror fiction class, take it!

Nice professor, knowledgeable. Does not explain what he wants for the papers, offers no topics and they need to be 12-15 pages (BOO). Tests are hard but not too hard.

Talk about an interesting class. He's pretty bland as a teacher, but the material more than makes up for it. The tests are difficult, but definitely not impossible.

I enjoyed the class discussions on the works we read; good selection of reading. Tests were challenging, but fair. He didn't give a lot of direction on paper topics; just more or less let us write on whatever we wanted.

He came into class everyday like he was just trying to get through. He didn’t seem interested in the class at all. I ended up not going to classes because they were very boring and if anything very superficial. We never did any heavy analysis in class. Test/ paper grading fine but the classes were horrible.

Dr. Neilson doesn't have an attitude like his rude-ass colleague Bonca. He is an ideal English professor; he grades fairly, he is approchable and helpful, he fosters creative interpretation and he really knows the material.

Worst professor I ever had. 2 papers are required and must me 8 - 12 pages each - extremely vague and unhelpful when explaining the topic of the papers. Tests are not graded too bad - use quotes to get a better grade and make sure you read! Reading assignments are decent.
