He doesn't use powerpoint slides. He does the problems on paper. An HP17BII+ calculator is needed to solve problems (like putting data in a list like set 1 and set 2). For the exams, he'll give you a study guide. You can use a cheat sheet (1/2 of a sheet). Also 3 stat packs in Microsoft Excel will count towards your grade. Go to A+ if you need it.

Shaul is clear in his expectations. He follows the syllabus and is organized. Two things I appreciate in a professor. He is patient and wants his students to succeed. Don't miss class or you will fall behind. He makes MIS interesting and he engages his class to participate. He prepares you for the real world. Take him for MIS, you won't regret it

If you've ever taken any sort of stats class before you'll do fine in this class. Really not that bad I think difficulty is exaggerated on here. Shaul is a nice guy and tells interesting stories. His tests are very straight forward, and if you go to class and pay attention then they won't be difficult for you.

Shaul is not a teacher. He's not a man. I don't recommend anybody to take MIS 301 with Shaul, not only me, but if the surveys goes around, they will rate him as of not a human. He uses bad words toward students and he calls us heavy bad words. I am honest of what am writing and surveys will approve my word

Worst professor I've ever had. His tests are ridiculously hard. He doesn't provide slides or helpful study guides, just a non-user friendly book and an unnecessary calculator that he makes you buy. He prides himself on his disorganization and awful teaching where he JUST lectures and sloppily writes unhelpful notes.

Shaul's class was hard, but not impossible. Make sure you do the stat packets with friends just incase you don't understand something. Also go to A+ review!!!!!!! If you study hard and make a good cheat sheet you should be able to pass. Good luck!

Shaul's class is difficult for most business majors but it is not impossible. Do the 3 stat-packs (which take 20 mins), make a good cheat sheet, and study a bit before the tests. He wants you to do well and he is a good professor who truly enjoys teaching statistics. Take him if you're willing to do some work which will pay off.

This class was HARD. If you think you're a good note taker now, become a better one in Shaul's class. Write down everything he says. Don't skip class, ever. A+ review will save your life. Exams are worth 25%, 30%, and the final is 35% of your grade. Collectively, 90% of your grade is based on the exams which are HARD. You need a 72% to pass

I had already taken stats and I underestimated the difficulty of this class. Mr. Shaul's lectures basically entail him talking about the concepts out loud, and then doing problems on the board. The whole time he lectured, I felt uncertain if I understood what was going on. He's a nice guy, but his class is challenging. I got a B- with effort.

This class is not easy, but I promise you will get numerous benefits from taking Shaul. Yes he teaches stats, but he also teaches you how to actually apply his material to the real world, which is hard to find from other professors. He also usually ends class with an interesting motivational story, as to inspire us students to strive to do more.

Professor Shaul is the best professor I have had at San Diego State. He truly cares about his students and is willing to give you the help you need. His tests are tough but if you pay attention and work for it you can do well. I would take Shaul again if I could.

He gives you all the formulas needed to pass the class. Practice Practice Practice and you will pass. Very little homework so practice problems from the book on your own and go to office hours for clarity,

GO. TO. CLASS!! If you write down almost everything that he says during lecture, you will get AT LEAST a B on his tests. Examples that he gives in class are more than likely to show up on the test. Do not get on his bad side (by being on your phone, talking). Go to office hours so he can see you're trying! He is a nice guy if you get to know him.

Attending class is a must if you want a good grade. I missed 2 classes and it caused me to try and keep up for the following classes. Shaul breaks down the material to make it easy as possible, the book is way too complicated. If you have questions go to office hours. Make sure your phone is put away or you will lose points.

Easily the most interesting professor I've had. Do the stat packs because they are easy points, tests are hard. I've never had to work as hard for a class like I did for this one. Be prepared and study as much as you can, make this class your priority. GO TO A PLUS REVIEW.

Tests are HARD! My scores were 42%, 84%, and around a 77%. Exams are worth 25,30, and 35%. 3 Stat packs worth 10%. I had lost 16% of my grade after the first test. I RECCOMEND going to A+ review before each test as without it I would have failed. If I pulled the impossible and ended with a C, you can do it. You cant do worse than my Exam 1 42%.

Shaul is an awesome teacher. This class is definitely hard but its interesting. Use the book to practice examples for the tests or for clarification. Take good notes for the lectures he doesnt test on anything he doesnt say in class. Do the stat packs they take like 1 hour and its extra points youll need and make sure to turn off your phone!

You gotta go to class and take notes on every single lecture, sometimes has an interesting story or 2 to tell during class which was about the only bright spot in his lectures. Tough tests, especially the final. I would recommend taking someone else if you're just trying to get by. Do get the book though, he gives practice problems out of it.
