Love this guy! He really wants what's best for his students and tries to make work as "doable" as possible. He wants you to pass. I went to his office hours the day before every quiz and he'd answer every question I had. Class is also really fun and interesting.

Hooper is amazing, he's like a fun uncle away from home. He is overly accessible outside of class and with resources and makes sure you know it. If his students think something about an assignment or test was unfair he'll fix it. Yes he calls on people randomly to speak and the workload is a lot but he does it for the benefit of his students.

Comment:

Hooper is hilarious and makes class really fun. He's great at teaching easy ways to memorize things that would be difficult otherwise, and he's super available and helpful during office hours. Definitely one of the most accommodating professors I've ever had. And he tells great stories. Attendance isn't mandatory but class is really useful.

Comment:

German is inherently a tricky subject, but Professor Hooper makes it comprehensible. I had already taken some German prior to the class but hadn't really caught on. Within the first month and a half, our class surpassed all of the content without feeling like we were going too fast. He really cares about his students and encourages office hours

Hooper is by far my favorite professor on this campus. He genuinely cares for all of his students, and wants to see them to succeed both in and outside of class. Incredibly accessible, enthusiastic, and kind.

Hooper finds a way to make learning a new language really fun. He makes sure everyone is involved. He really cares about his students and he's really funny. As long as you pay attention and study, the class is not too challenging, and Hooper is always willing to help.

Hooper is one of the best professors you will have here. His genuine care and concern for his students is beautiful. He will make german as fun as it can possibly be, he is a hilarious and engaging professor. I LOVE HOOPER AND I LOVE SCHOOL.

When I was taking his class I missed a week because I was hospitalized for self-harm. He emailed me and told me that if I ever needed anything, I could call him and he would pick me up. He really cares about his students. If you have any questions, go see him in office hours. The class is easy but tests are fair. GO TO CLASS and you will learn it.

Hooper has a cult following on campus. The class I took with him was extremely easy, and I did not need the textbook. He is sort of insane. Some people fall in love with him, but some hate him. I did not learn very much in his class, but if I had tried harder I could have.

This was easily one of the best classes I have taken at UPS. The material was so fascinating, though dense at times. Hooper did a fantastic job keeping the topic engaging though, and exploring the many facets of the subject. It was awesome and I couldn't have asked for a better class. Take this class for your Connections core! It is amazing!

Agree with "hooper is insane"! He likes random tangents in essays. Also, his main focus is on grammar in the later sections rather than content, which is good. He's a pretty easy grader if you put the effort in.

Professor Hooper is awesome! He's funny and personable and wants you to get a good grade. You can't be asleep in his class though and he won't let anyone be a sheep.
