Dr. Rhoads is the BEST! I had him for Gen. Chem 1 and I plan on taking his Gen Chem 2 class next semester. Chem is a tough subject as is, but Dr. Rhoads really tries to help his students understand the material. He is available outside of class and even though his Chem Studio is optional, I would recomend attending to grasp the subject. TAKE HIM!!

Posts lecture slides online before class and goes through them in lecture. Very helpful in lecture, studio, and office hours. Attendance isn't mandatory but I'd recommend going since it's a hard subject. Very approachable and fun to talk to.

not a fair grader. there is no partial credit. you can work as hard as hard as you want and he always throws wrenches into his tests. very upsetting when I get test back and IT WAS GRADED LOWER THAN EXPECTED. I DO NOT RECOMMEND

Funny dude, would definitely recommend making conversation with him as he's got some great stories. As for a professor, he's very open and friendly and helpful as long as you're willing to put in the work and go to studio/office hours. Chill, understanding dude and very fair and honest professor as well.

Definitely would not recommend if chem is not your forte. He is not at all clear. He puts his slideshows up online, but they don't help at all for the tests because there's so much unnecessary information on them. He's a very sweet man, but would not recommend unless you have a lot of background on the subject.

Dr. Rhoads is a very nice guy but comes off as a bit frazzled at times. His lectures are very good but he explains things a bit too much in detail that you might get lost in what he's trying to say. He is one of those professors who is too smart to understand that you need a little more clarification or to go over the subjects slower. Tough grader.

Dr. Rhoads is a very nice guy and will go out of his way to help you, however I had a very difficult time fallowing him in class. He was all over the place and was not specific. When he gave us review questions for our test they were not even close to the information on the test. No matter how much I studied I would still do bad from lack of info.

Dr. Rhoads would say that those who didn't do well in his course didn't try hard enough or put enough effort in because there was many who did extremely well in the course. I put a lot of effort into doing OWL questions as well as studying for the exams and I will be lucky to pass this course. Do not take chemistry at Siena College.

Lectures are boring beyond belief, but tests and quizzes are fair. not too much textbook reading, will give you practice problems. owls help a lot. attendance isnt mandatory, but quizzes on thursdays are on previous lectures. dry sense of humor, very helpful in and out of office hours, def recommend taking. Great guy, and cares about his students

Great guy. Goes out of his way to explain things if you seek help outside of class. Helpful and laid back when grading problem sets. Watch out for his multiple choice questions. Ends up curving at the end.
