Comment:
Professor Saudino is a very nice woman who cares a lot about her field. However, this class is way too many different materials that are never elaborated on or reviewed. My discussion group was completely useless and full of busy work and my TA was terrible. Even though Saudino is a sweet woman, this class was a struggle and a half.

Every single part of the class covers different material (lecture, discussion, and textbook readings) and it is never reviewed or elaborated on. Discussion quizzes are just useless busy work because they are not handed back so students can use them to study for tests. Lectures are so boring and the tests are too specific.

I would not recommend taking this class with her. Tests are hard and you basically have to memorize the textbook to do well. Often includes questions on content in the textbook but never mentioned in class. The TA teaches additional material during the discussion rather than help you reinforce what you learned in lecture which was annoying.

She makes what should be a really interesting topic almost unbearable. Sitting through lectures was torture. She also tests directly from the book, giving you essentially 40+ pages to read each week. Tests were extremely difficult, unnecessarily so. Hated this class, really wish I took it with a different professor.

Is Saudino easy? No. Is she fair? Yes. Professor Saudino tells you to read the chapters and take lecture notes, and you need to. The text differs from lecture, but you 100% need to know both. However, if you're organized and get the reading done, you'll do fine. Every test question is either in the book or your notes. She is very knowledgeable.

Saudino is horrible. She expects you to know every single line from the book and every single thing she mentions in her lectures. The TF will tell you to not concentrate on the examples she gives in lectures as they are just concepts but you will need to know every single fact and detail. The tests cover way too much info that she doesn't stress

I took the prereq, which was so much clearer than the way she described things. her lectures are SO boring... she stands in one place for an hour and a half and its really hard to hear her. The work isn't all that difficult, but going to class was a bore.

Did not enjoy Dev. Psych with her. While she is not the worst professor I have ever had, she is certainly not the best. Tests are difficult, some material from the book that is never covered in class will appear on the exams. Test questions can be tricky. Take a different professor for this class!

VERY UNDERSTANDING AND APPROACHABLE: I was late to class twice so I missed the sign-in sheet being passed around. I didn't realized I was counted as absent twice until much later so I emailed her and she said she'd erase the two 'abscences' if I showed her my notes from those two classes.

yes, 25% of all test questions are from the book and never mentioned in class--BUT DON"T WORRY. all you have to do is read the summaries at the end of the chapters and look into whatever you didn't learn from class. tests are very hard. she's very nice though.

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. I love psychology and this professor just makes it so boring. I can hardly stay awake in her class, which is VERY unlike me as I love learning. Her exams are not clear, and unnecessarily specific. Avoid taking this professor if you can.

Really nice person but really really boring professor. Lectures weren't interesting at all and made what should've been an interesting subject really dry and boring. The tests are worded very confusingly and the textbook hardly helps. Take this course if you are really really interested in developmental psychology but if not beware this class.

Professor Saudino isn't necessarily the most engaging psych professor I have had, but it's fairly easy to do well in her class. All you have to do is pay attention in class, study her straightforward notes, and read the book. Personally, I hate the textbook she uses, but I enjoyed her lectures. I would't call it a "fun" class, but it's interesting.

I thought the comments here were too exaggerating. But trust me, this class is the worst class I've ever taken my entire life. The professor is dead boring. The tests are ridiculous, read the book, EAT IT IF YOU CAN. sucks. don't take her, DO NOT TAKE HER. no curves, nothing. Discussions are sometimes helpful. DONT TAKE HER

Dev. Psych was the worst class I ever took. Although Saudino presents her info pretty well, the tests were ridiculous. The textbook is your bible in this class... you can't not read the book and pass. Absolutely ridiculous. And the TA is AWFUL. Worst TA ever. She was rude, thought she was so much smarter than everyone, and didn't care about the kid

Saudino may not be the most interesting prof, but she teaches the info well with power points. Theres 4 exams, and she drops the lowest. Not a hard class if you actually study! TA did nothing for me.

Prof. Saudino's lectures don't go into depth, but they're clear. She repeats important information. The tests are sometimes strangely worded and are pretty difficult. The textbook must be read/studied carefully, but it isn't too boring. Prof. Saudino is really sweet. Our T.F., Lisa, was a bit snappy and pretended to be nice, but she was smart.

I heard intimidating rumors prior to taking Saudino's class but I found her class to be ok! Just make sure you read the textbook. If you treat her lectures and discussion as a supplement to the reading, the class is fine. She doest go into much depth in her lectures, but she speaks clearly and will repeat important information. overall, good class!

I want to warn others not to take a class with this professor. Although the material is easily understandable, Saudino does not teach the material in her lectures, and her tests come straight from the book. Saudino is one of those professors who does not prepare you for exams, yet puts absurdly specific material on the actual test.
