Comment:
There are four total papers where the directions are clearly laid out, you will need to pick a topic, make sure it is controversial. Dr. Rasmussen is very understanding and will help you if you just ask, gives great feedback on papers. I had something pop up near one of the due dates of the papers, and he extended my date no problem. 10-10

Rasmussen was amazing at getting back to me whenever I had a question. He never made me feel like I was annoying him or anything. I felt like he respected me for asking questions. One thing I wish he was a little bit more clearer on was his grading. It might be hard to be super specific online though.

Prof. Rasmussen gets back to you extremely quickly, so utilize this when you have questions. If he gives you feedback on a paper, email him so that he can expand and use that info!! There are only 4 papers throughout the semester, but he does offer a lot of help so he expects you to do your part. Make sure to pick a topic that is controversial!

Prof. Rasmussen was extremely easy to work with. He responded very quickly to emails, and looked over rough drafts several times. There are only 4 papers, so your scores on those do matter. Make sure to pick a very controversial topic so you have a lot of resources to access. Don't be afraid to ask questions when they pop up.

Awesome professor!! I would recommend him to anyone. This class is not an easy A so be prepared to work for it. He is a tough grader, but it's college. Expectations are crystal clear. 4 assignments throughout the entire semester that absolutely CANNOT be put off until the last minute. He will give you the chance to revise for a better grade.

All smaller assignments lead up to a very intense 18-20 page paper for the final assignment. Each assignment really matters and cannot be put together last minute.. It was very time consuming and intense for me but with all the effort I got 100% in the class. The only bad was extra credit turned out to be an actual assignment not extra credit.

Great online engl 2020 class. You only have four papers due but there are eight opportunities for extra credit and if you turn your papers in at least two weeks in advance Rassmussen will tell you what you need to do to get a 100% on the paper. The writing center is great as well I made two appointments with them per paper they will help out alot.

I thought the requirements for the course were crystal clear. 4 papers and a few discussions. Not much busy work, which I liked. If you did well in ENGL 1010 and need to get this class out of the way this is a good online course to take with Dr. Rasmussen. He offers a lot of extra credit as well.

Rasmussen taught a great class. We wrote 1 long paper, which he graded pretty hard. He gave quizzes almost every class that were for extra credit- and the classes were spent talking about the stories we read- Iliad, Odyssey, etc. Made changes based on class input. If you go to class and write the paper, you'll get a good grade. really enjoyable

Online format is extremely straight-forward. The only real assignments are a few online posts and 4 reports/papers. He is not easy, but he is very willing to offer help and support if you ask for it. Get the book and do the extra credit assignments--you'll need all the points you can get.

I got a %106 in his summer class. I did all the extra credit and all of the work he assigned expecting a C. But with a lot of luck I passed. I took it online this summer and it was hard. not that he was a hard teacher, just that the format was hard with it being online. My advice is that you take it in person.

I DO NOT RECCOMEND TAKING A CLASS FROM HIM!! He's very strict will ONLY be called DOCTOR Rassumusen and when asked a question will just refer you to the book which was of no use at all I took his Online English 2020 class, and without input from a teacher a 22 page research paper is hard to do The only help offered was from classmates on blackboard

I took his online class and ended up with an A but it was a lot of work on your own. He just refers you to your text book for answers. He is very particular about your references.

Not an enjoyable class at all. The $80 dollar required text is useless. Did I mention he wrote the text, seems like a conflict of interest. A professor can require you to buy his rip off book? It was hardly used to boot. Don't bother asking him questions, he won't help you out. Just refer you to his crappy syllabus which needs to be proof read.

Kirk is a great professor! I took his World Lit. class and really liked how he did things. He let you decide how you wanted the bulk of your grade to be made up. He gave 3 choices, 2 papers, a paper and a test, or three tests. He took your best score on the 1st two options and the 3 test option he dropped the lowest of the 3 tests. Take his class!

I took Dr. Rasmussen's class through Distance Eduaction. It was a difficult class because he required a lot of communication between the other students through the bulletin board, but it was helpful. He was willing to help you work on your papers, and his expectations were realistic.

It's not an easy class because of the lengthy required research paper, but he gives a lot of good feedback and is very helpful if you need it.
