Comment:

His lecture is long and boring. He would go through the concepts and examples every class. I feel like the whole lecture was just crazy copying every answer from what he wrote. No one has time to think or response. The exam is very hard, but he would give around 10 marks bell curve. Overall, don't choose him if you wanna a easy pass.

Explains concepts very thoroughly and goes through examples in class. Does not post any slides or answers to textbook questions so attendance is necessary to pass. Even if you attend every class you still may not pass. Gave a generous bell curve in my class but very difficult exams. A lot of practice necessary.

I was very happy with Professor Ho. I would recommend attending all lectures, and you will be rewarded. He explains concepts from the textbook well, and goes through past exam questions in class. He is enthusiastic about finance and entertaining in his lectures. You can tell he cares about his students.

If you like extremely fast-paced lectures with a very narrow way of defining fundamentals then this is the prof for you. He uses a calculator from the 1970's and refuses to buy a new one. Makes sense.

Funny and very enthusiastic about finance but posts 0 slides. Attendance is mandatory. He doesn't teach, he just does question after question (the answers to he doesn't post). Two relatively difficult assignments (can get a B if you try), and a tough midterm + final, generous bell curve though. Get ready to study on your own a lot.

he is very enthusiastic about finance however, the way he prepared us for the exam was horrible, the midterm was super hard as well as the final. he keeps saying he has no say in midtermfinal because theres more than 6 profs teaching the course.

Easily the best & most relevant course I've taken. I came back to York after working for a few yrs so my advice is keep the textbook - you'll find it useful down the road! yes there aren't answers in the textbook but he goes over them in lectures. I'd definitely take another of his courses - he's inspirational if you want to maximize your wealth!

Funny prof who loves loves to remind you that his book is the first and greatest book written about personal finance in Canada. He will verify that you understand the concepts by saying "you get about it?" so everything in your head is not "out of whack". I wouldn't mind taking another course from Prof. Ho.

I found him extremely irritating! Teaching students how to save a quarter a day doesn't help them do better in the exams! The worst part, he's too full of himself and I have yet to discover why. Did a very bad job preparing us for the exams, the text was unhelpful and he doesn't provide anything online. Choose another section!

Excellent Professor! He is clear and well-organized. He is not that difficult as long as you understand and do his assigned questions. Also, he delivers this course very well; most importantly, he can teach you how to think and tackle finance problems while other profs may blindly read anything on the book or slides to the class!

HO cares more about his text book then his students. He claims the publisher will not allow him to post questions/solutions when really it is just an excuse to be lazy and not help the students. Avoid this prof. and take any one of the others offering this class that generally care about their students doing well.
