She is a great professor who really cares about her students. Even though she talks about the textbook, you don't have to use it to be successful in the class. There is one individual presentation, two papers, and three exams, nothing too difficult. Take her if you can!

She's a wonderful professor that willing to help if asked. I'm gonna be real with you, participation is 10% of your grade, there are 2 papers, 1 presentation, 6 class assignments, & 3 exams including the final. You can get it done in a very timely manner. All you have to do is show up to class and participate. Book really wasn't necessary.

Best teacher I have ever had hands down. She is clear about all assignments and a very easy grader on papers. If she taught any other classes I would sign up for them immediately. She is the reason I declared my major as Sports Management and the class can be very eye opening and interesting if you enjoy sports. Take this class!!

Dr Swanson is the best prof I've had.. Tests are a bit challenging. There were two papers assigned which were not difficult at all, in fact they were kind of fun to do. She remembers every student's name after the first day or two and really cares that everybody does well. I would recommend her to anybody even if it doesn't relate to your major.

She is AWESOME! I took a class with her at Goucher and she is probably the best teacher I have ever had. She's nice, funny, totally chilled out and really willing to help if you need it. Not only were the papers easy but they were FUN! Go to class though, because there's lots of in-class assignments. LOVE DR. SWANSON!!!

Dr Swanson was a great professor. You can tell she has a true passion for sociology but she knows that the students need something to relate to so she does just that. The papers are your choice of topic and the tests are straight from class notes. If you go to class and pay attention you will get at least a B in the class. Very easy to get an A too

Random quiz days. For the most part she has them on Friday's. Simple paper's (2) and class assignments. Very easy to get at least a B+. Work a little bit for an A. Great teacher and makes the material easy. Shows several movies. Tests are very easy. Study maybe 20-30 minutes for it.

Such a sweet person, but can be a difficult grader sometimes. I didn't do so well on a test but made up for it by writing a kickin paper. She likes to hear your ideas, so participate in class and show up every day. You have to put in some effort but it's not terrible.

Class is easy, the first day she makes it sound tough to scare people out of the class. Very boring, but it's an easy grade. I had the football team in my class, I'm pretty sure they're all failing and are still going to pass. She does seem to like waht she teaches and tries to be as helpfu as she can

Nice to look at in class and very knowledgable. Practices lots of smiling and understanding and will help you if you need it. Lots of writing but it counts as the Advanced Comp elective, too. Gives the info in small doses that are easy to digest. She reminds me of the cutest mouse I ever met.
