Comment:
Sholtis gives two large papers in this class, the first one is graded fairly harshly but it does prepare you for the final paper which people mostly do well on if they follow his exact instructions. Papers are written in a group so good luck. The exams aren't too hard but you do need to study and pay attention. Harsh participation grade as well.

Awful is an understatement. If you can avoid taking his class, I would. He missed class a lot, yet is strict on attendance. He was always late, and so boring. One of the worst professor's at EMU COB, which is saying a lot, cause most of them are horrible. Grades heavy, considering he gives no clear instructions to what's expected.

The instructor is a nice guy, but I felt I learned more about his personal life than the subject he was teaching. He talks often of his personal business experience, which is relevant, but then gets sidetracked on other not so relevant stories.

The class mainly revolved around Len putting up a PowerPoint and teaching the material. He really uses his personal experience to help the students understand the topics better. The tests are worth a lot of the final grade, but they aren't very difficult. Overall, the class could get a little dull but he was still an amazing professor to have!

Len is a great instructor. He has a lot of life experience in the field of business. The book is just a study tool. You're allowed like 2 or 3 absences but besides that attendance is mandatory. A big group project is included, be sure to pick good group members. multiple choice exams, and a few short papers. I would recommend him to anyone.

He is very tough grader which is the most important part for our grades. He is very picky on answers. He is a good teacher who does not explain what he wants on paper . If you have other choices, try other professors.

Spends most of class lecturing about his business. The tests are not related to any material on the slides. He shaved away so many points from the final project based on things he wanted but did not ask for. I would not take him ever again, he is very vague and unclear for the way he grades

Len means well but no real teaching here, lectures largely entailed redundant stories of his own previous business. Attendance was of very little value but was required. There are 2 fairly serious projects both very relevant to the course and 2 exams with 1/2 MC and essay, get ready to be self-taught. This would be a superb course online!

Len is a cool person and has a lot of business experience, but isn't a good professor. He is really unclear about what he wants and does a lot of things that aren't listed on the syllabus. He claimed the exams were based on the powerpoints, but 10+ Q's came from the book. This is coming from someone who struggled to get an A.

Len is a really cool and funny guy. He brings in guest speakers which creates great opportunities. Tests are a little tough, I'd recommend taking notes when he lectures. Also, I'd either bring a laptop for following along the notes, or renting the book - as he sometimes lectures a little fast. Other than that, the class and his stories were great!

Excellent professor! Enjoys talking about the subject and is very passionate about it. The class is writing-intensive, so be prepared to write and do presentations in class. If you show up, you will do well. If you don't participate, you won't do well. Grading is based on participation, writing assignments, and attendance.

Amazing professor. Has people come in and speak, which helps students decide which major would be right for them. Tests are easy. Minimal homework. Interesting to listen to his previous business ventures. Show up to class! Dont bother buying textbook

Len is laid back. Don't bother buying the book. He also often gets off topic and talks about funny business experiences he's had for 30 minutes. Class isn't really hard at all. Just ask him specifically what he wants for projects or hw and he will tell you. Do exactly what he asks and you get an A. Would recommend for the 490 capstone.

Professor Sholtis is a nice enough man and he tries to make his class not so boring by having a lot of guest speakers and interactive papers. He talks a lot about his life and his wife which is annoying, but the class is easy. Focus on the definitions on your cheat sheet for an exam (which he allows) and you will do fine.

Terrific professor. Tests are pretty straight-forward, plus he gives you a group project/presentation (worth most of the points) that he is pretty lenient with. I'd take him again, for sure.
