Really nice guy. However, if you have never had German before, you will have to study. I took German in high school so I got an A. But he does move quickly so you have to keep up if you are unfamilar with the language.

Unfortunately, Prof. Pastor is the ONLY professor in the German department. He's a nice man, but when it comes to teaching...well. Not the best. His tests are directly from the book so go over the readings and the grammar as well. He doesn't teach in German, but in English (which doesn't help...at all!)

Comment:

Class mostly consists of reading and doing exercises in the textbook. It's not bad, but it doesn't help us prepare for the tests. He also seems unprepated, and he does not take the time to learn our names, which in a way is disrespectful to the students. Be cautious if you want to take his course.

He is a dilligent professor who is there to help you, but his methods are not for everyone. You HAVE to study to get a good grade in the class, the way he teaches class really doesn't prepare you for the test, hew doesn't check for your work but i would advise you to do it, it will pay off.

Willfully took German for two years as well as German History with him. Dr. Pastor is a wonderful person and he's always willing to help (even though he might help you with something other than you requested). Nice guy but mediocre prof--he leaves most of the material for you to learn on your own.

If you're a German student you have no choice because he is the German Department. He's very nice and if you pay attention and learn what he says then you'll do good. You have to do most of the learning on your own but it is an easy class.

WOW, worst lecturer I've ever had. Not only can't you understand him, but he jumps around all the time between dates, never interacts with the class, and is extremely boring. He'll give you a D on a test and not even leave comments. AVOID!!
