this has been one of the worst instructors I have had, If you want someone to read the textbook to you she is your girl. if you struggle at all your on your own! great for review's but if you don't know the work move on to someone who can actually explain whats going on.

The first day of taking this class I knew I had a great teacher! She explains everything so well. Her notes are handouts which makes everything so much easier. When it comes to tests she gives us a review and an answer key. I recommend her to anyone who struggles in math! You wont regret it! Best teacher there is!

I'm not sure how anyone could say Mrs. Balfour is not a great teacher, truly. She explains everything thoroughly and understandably. I never once saw her be anything approaching rude to anyone. Grades are based on quizzes and tests as they should be. This is college people. Will take her for every math class I can. Would absolutely recommend her.

Very helpful teacher, very thorough with information. Show up everyday and you will do very well, don't show and and you won't do well. Grades based on tests and exams, not homework, DO THE HOMEWORK!!! it WILL help, and she is always willing to help, but definitely a no nonsense kind of lady.

This was the worst teacher I've come across at this school. She is so slow, annoying, and I can't say the words I'd like to call her on here. If you miss her class on a test day even if it was an emergency like mine she will not let you make up the test. Such a boring class it makes you want to go to sleep.

She is NOT helpful what-so-ever. i am a 4.0 student and I am failing her class. Half the class dropped out. All she grades on are test and quizes. She is very rude if you have a question, she will not explain it. She does not go out of her way to help. Word of advice DO NOT TAKE HER.

Very good teacher, she is willing to help you as long as you ask, but she does not tolerate students that disrespect her and talk or do not show up to class, math is really hard for me but her notes and review sheets really helps! Great Teacher! finished with a 3.0

LOVE this teacher! She is honestly great. I went into math absolutely hating the class, and she made it tolerable. If you skip out on a day, you may be lost (just like any other class) but her notes are fill in the blanks, VERY EASY! Highly recommend! Took her TWICE!

As a mature student I appreciated her zero tolerance attitude for slackers. Do the work,stay on track & you can't miss with her. She's organised and knows her material fully. I don't really care if she isn't warm and fuzzy with students although I personally found her friendly and approachable - I came to learn Algebra not bond with the instructor.

I can not say enough wonderful things about professor Balfour. If you are afraid of alegbra take this teacher. She is tough and expects you to be there for class, take notes and pay attention. But she explains the logic behind the principals. She made a very scary class for me a joy to go to. I would take another class of hers any time.

Strict, but fair. She does not teach out of the book, she makes packets for each chapter and goes over everything on the overhead. She gives HW out of the book, but does not collect it. I passed the class w/o ever opening the book because she teaches so well, and everything you need to know is in the packets. Good teacher.

Mrs. Balfour is a wonderful professor who explains really well. I have always had trouble with algebra, and for once in my life I get it now. Take advantage of her Office hours as well, she will go over all your issues and help you with some math assignments! Big PLUS

Mrs. Balfour is by far the best math teacher I have ever had! She is very tough though. She does not tolerate late assignments and expects you to put forth an effort to succeed in the class. She is a wonderful professor and I would highly recommend her!

Mrs. Balfour is an amazing math teacher. I hated math before and got very poor grades. She explains things very well and cares about how her students do. However, you do have to put in effort in any math class you take. If you don't do the work, there is no way you will get a good grade.
