Tough Grader in the sense that won't change any marks under any circumstances. Lots of homework because there are weekly discussion posts minimum 3. Lectures were extremely dumb, she goes on about ridiculous things that don't even make sense to the course content. She is funny though. final exam STUPID ... creative writing assignment

Where to start. I dont have time to leave a detailed review. But in short, there is probably not much good to this class/prof. Her lecture consists of rants, her tests consist of unclear questions and even more unclear topics to study. The course is about popular punishment, but the second half just rants on about any topic. Would not recommend.

Do the readings & go to class. I'll probably end with an A+ bc she makes it attainable. No textbook. Relevant readings. Good study guides to prepare you. No paper or final, 3 exams during the term, 1 test, & online discussions. Ensure that you mention examples from readings+the author's name+lecture examples for exams. Lectures mostly interesting.

Linda Mahood is a fantastic professor! She's intelligent, funny and quirky- all of which contribute to her ability to engage and captivate students during her lectures. Don't expect to take this class and receive an easy-A. You will need to work for your grades, but Professor Mahood offers many opportunities for you to achieve your desired outcome.

Pretty fun lecturer as long as you can keep up with her, but the worst test-writer in existence! The questions make no sense and lack context, especially multiple choice.

This class was really interesting. Mahood is knowledgeable and good at teaching but the textbooks will teach you much more than the lectures. Still, go to class, because she expects exam answers to include class examples. The term paper was unique & easy to get a good mark on. Exams are fair & heavily based on the textbooks so do your readings.

pretty much useless, don't need to go to class and I wouldn't advise it because she straight up yells into her mic. offers multiple choice but they make no sense and if you ask to go over it after she will tell you to just not do multiple choice. interesting topic and reading material but useless lecture

Such a great prof, and great class! Dr. Mahood designed this course for her students to do well. Not too much work, but quite a few smaller assignments. She's so funny, and loves what she teaches about.

Really great Prof. She's hilarious and makes the lectures interesting, and she is really engaging. Do not hesitate to ask her if you are confused during lecture or after class because she is very approachable. The class itself was set up really well making it pretty easy to do well. No textbook, she put articles up on course link which was a bonus!

Be Warned:The class wasn't very interesting. The instructions she would give for the case studies didn't make much sense. I found myself going to the TAs for clarification instead of her. If you're taking this course as a history major, I found that the Case Studies were more geared towards criminal justice topics than actual history.

Great prof. I found her lectures had nothing to do with what she wanted from you in your assignments so get ready to do a lot of extra, outside research. Other than that this is a fairly easy class and shes a hilarious, engaging professor.

I absolutely adored this class! For a night lecture I found the material really interesting and she definitely enjoyed what she was teaching. I'm in biomed and took it as an elective and she was so understanding when I asked to hand in the final take-home assignment a few days later due to my exam schedule! Really fair and understanding prof :)

Brilliant, just brilliant. She's so smart, and love's her work that you really tell she puts a lot of time and effort into the class. And her Final was way easy, making it a breeze. She was awesome and so entertaining too.
