Amazing woman and a good teacher, she is hard but she will help and go over things with you.She may seem intimedating at first but if you just go to her office and address your concerns she will do her best to help. She knew everyone in my class and made a point to know everyones' name, this is comforting and makes the class more enjoyable.

Comment:

Hard teacher who favored her regular english majors. But she makes the text make sense and offers SI meetings for bonus points. I sympathize that classes are a dread to attend, but she knows what she's doing. She can become annoyed if some do not understand the material. If you do the work then you make the grade.

She does not like opinions or ideas that differ from her own. Rely (very) heavily on the text. Felt my writing skills did not improve. You will dread going to class every day. On the bright side, it isn't a very difficult class overall, and the professor will give help if asked.

She is a very challenging teacher. However, I found the class (HEL) worthwhile. I learned a lot from her, and I found the material interesting. Rely heavily on the text, as her lectures are based on them. Also, if you are not a language/English major, I don't recommend this course, as it is a lot of work.

Tough but fair. If you don't like group work, I hate it, don't take this prof. Also, she grades holistically which I didn't like. I like to know exactly how I'm doing, not just checkmarks and then a surprise final grade. I did learn alot.

A good teacher, but way too pushy. She expects a lot, and hardly rewards work for an A. I once had the best paper in class, had to read it out loud, and it was a B. By the way, she dosnt grade using a letter system, but a hollistic system. Very confusing and hard to follow.

Expects way too much. Not very fun to have in class. Doesn't come across well at all. She gets joy out of "pushing" her students, but doesn't get it--by pushing them, they end up busting themselves just to get a C. I dropped this class quickly.
