the class was really formulaic...breaks into small groups for "discussion questions" EVERY DAY, goes through textbook chapter by chapter. i'm a women's studies major and i didn't get much out of taking the intro with her. grading is really arbitrary sometimes, paper comments are pretty useless. take the intro with prof. finke.

Professor Smolak is great. I had her in class twice and she is also my advisor. Really sweet. I don't even have her for class now and she helps me out with stuff if I need. Whether it be for psych or another class.

A very nice person, sometimes picks favorites. I found her to be imposing on some issues- opinions are fine, but sometimes in her liberal opinions she was unwilling to hear the opposite side, which I think is crucial to the study of women's and gender studies. (and I'm liberal too!)
