If you're into science, then take it, if not, don't. Science isn't my thing, and so his lectures went over my head a lot of the time. Don't miss class, especially on quiz days. I missed a lot for school functions, and I never really caught up. He does give a lot of extra credit. His lectures were monotone-ish. It isn't as easy as he says it is.

Loved Dr. Crews. If you have a choice, 201 is easier of the two Astronomy courses. You will have to study to pass either course, though! He doesn't use the text book, but you will need the Mind Tap software.

If you have an interest in Astronomy, I would recommend taking this class. The first half is boring and requires some math. The second half is more interesting. He gives one quiz every week. Tests are easier if you do well on the quizzes. You can earn extra credit on each test by writing a 2-page paper on an Astronomy topic of your choice.

Dr. Crews is very helpful and makes class fun and interesting. I highly recommend him. I don't know why some people don't find his class easy. He gives extra credit chances, he lets you omit questions on tests, and he drops your two lowest quiz grades. Also, the final is optional. As long as you study, there's no reason you shouldn't receive an A.

TOO HARD if you aren't a science major. All the science lingo will begin to run together and get confusing. If you ask for help, you'll be looked at like you are stupid. Non-majors BEWARE: tests and quizzes are much harder than he claims at the beginning! If you are here to be confused and make a bad grade, then this class is for you.

Everyone seemed to have problems with his class. If he wasn't there he would send a freaking sub and expect you to be there. He is really nice but I would no t suggest astronomy if you don't have to take it.

Nice professor, but terrible class. Quiz every Monday morning, and he just lectures from the PP slides. Too much math and nothing is really explained in the labs. Should have taken Geology or Biology instead.

I really liked Lionel. I took Astronomy 201&202. He doesn't take attendance, but there is a quiz every Monday over the past weeks information, so it helps if you go. The tests are not easy if you don't study. He's a pretty funny guy, and the classes and labs are usually fun :]

He is a cool laid back guy. His lectures are interesting (if you are curious about astronomy). Quizzes every Monday. Tests are a little difficult, you just have to study the power points and read the book to get another comprehension. Overall cool guy, fun class.

One of the best professors on campus and a really interesting class, but it's definitely challenging. A personable prof with an effective teaching style. Weekly quizzes help hammer home the material.

Dr. Crews is a wonderful, fun teacher. I wish I had a teacher like him in every class. However, just because he is a great person he does not make the class easy. The conceptual quizzes are difficult, and the tests are very hard. Very easy to understand, but sometimes goes to a different level than I could comprehend.

If you do not like science, stars, geeky and nerdy stuff this is not the class for you. Some stuff is almost beyond comprehension if you are not very good at science. I thought this would be an easy out of Biology, WRONG

Very laid back, but knows astronomy like the back of his hand, and conveys the information well. Gives so many opportunities to make an A in the class, including field trips which are actually really fun. If you have to complete a science sequence at UTM, Astr 201-202 hands down.
