Doesn't give study guides for her tests but will give one for the final. All tests are open ended questions. YOU MUST TAKE NOTES IN CLASS, everything she says is important. Gives extra credit if you send in the notes. Relates the readings to current situations. Very sarcastic. You don't really need to read, she reads it over in class.

O'Neill isn't easy, but she's fair. I didn't mind her as a professor because I actually learned a lot in her class. She's a pretty tough grader, but she does it because she cares about the student's intellect. I suggest take her if you're interested in a challenge.

I took three classes with her, she's not easy... but something clicked. She became one of my favorite teachers, and her classes taught me more than the one in my major about life. If you take her class, be prepared to work --- but be prepared to learn. She's not as bad as she seems. If you just looking for an easy class, don't take her. If you want someone who is fair and you want to experience something different, then by all means take her classes.

Dr. O'Neill was my advisor for both the honors program and my philosophy major. Though she is extremely forgetful at times, she makes up for it through her passion for philosophy and seeing her students succeed. One of the best at SPC.
