LOVE this teacher, she is the kindest most caring teacher ever. she took time out of her day to meet with students and gave you the option to make edits she noted on your essay for a bonus 5%. some of the books were boring and hard to read but she made them make a lot more sense and if you listened closely enough you hardly had to read the books.

Comment:

Her Protest Lit class was one of my favourite undergrad classes. Her use of podcasts made it easy (and tempting) not to regularly attend class, but the literature itself compensated for such temptation. Easy marker, incredibly nice, and has a great scarf collection!

A fairly easy class if you write the six essays required throughout the course. BUT, she is often late to class, does not hand essays back quickly, and does not write helpful comments on your papers. If you are not a strong reader I would not recommend this class, we covered 13 novels which were between 200 and 500+ words each.

This is a very boring class! She sits at the front and rereads the stories we were assigned. There is no discussion or really looking deep into the literature that we read. If there is time at the end of the class after she has read the story she goes around one by one and says what did you think? Horrible spanish accent... However she is very nice

Dr. Jaeck teaches in straight lecture style with hardly any discussion which makes the class a bit dry. Helpful, insightful and willing to extend essay deadlines if you have a valid reason. No constructive criticism on essays, only the grade. Incredible booklist and overall good class.

Prof Jaeck is a really good teacher. I wish we would have done more written work but I suppose that's the next class up. Either way, her tests are really easy since you know that the examples will be coming from the book. Take her class. It's worth it.

Kind of a crazy class. At first I was really frustrated and disappointed with the crazy speed we went through things (we covered Goethe's Faust Part 2 in only one day!!) but she is insightful and funny and goes on these very entertaining rants. Overall, not bad. Exams and assignments were good.
